SAN FRANCISCO —
Jaella Conway picked up a victory on Sunday before the No. 49 ranked Stanislaus State women's tennis dropped a 8-1 decision to No. 22 Academy of Art at the San Francisco Bay Club.
Conway rallied to win two straight sets to defeat Mariacristina Andrisani at the No. 2 singles position in three hard fought sets, 6-7, 6-1, 10-8. At No. 1 singles,
Cassidy Ferrell also had a tough match before losing, 6-3, 6-3, to Monika Stanikova.
Conway and Ferrell had a close match at No. 1 doubles earlier in the contest before losing the 8-6 score to Swedish twins Alma and Klara Thell-Lenntorp.
Stanislaus State falls to 2-4 overall this season and takes on American River College Saturday at home at Stan State Courts.
