SANTA CRUZ — Top seeded singles player Cassidy Ferrell led the Warriors day at the UCSC Slug Invitational as Stan State captured four titles on Sunday. Taylor Galya earned two victories herself in both singles and doubles play.

Ferrell won the top flight of the event with two more wins on the day. She beat third-seeded Ioanna Lathorui of Fresno Pacific en route to the title match against Sunbird Marina Lex. Ferrell took the set 6-1, 6-4 for the tournament win.

Galya also won her bracket as the No. 1 seed in Flight B. She took down Ines Pelvang (UCSC), 6-1, 6-4 for beating Fresno Pacific's Sanne Brull, 6-4, 6-0, for the title.

In doubles play, Galya was also part of the Flight C champion with partner Amila Gogalija. The pair defeated a Cal Luthern team in the semifinals to advance before posting a, 8-0 win over UC Santa Cruz team of Savana McDowell and Vivian Lee.

Gogalija was declared the Flight A single consolation winner when her finals opponent withdrew due to injury. Gogalija had won her semifinal match over Kayla Manz of UC Santa Cruz, 7-6(3), 6-1.
