SAN FRANCISCO – Still working towards their first win of the season, the Stanislaus State tennis team suffered another 0-9 loss on Sunday against No. 7 Academy of Art at the San Francisco Tennis Club.
The Warriors struggled against their nationally ranked opponent, losing all singles matches in two sets.
Kayla Nguyen had a decent second set losing 4-6, and
Megan Hagerty also took a 4-6 loss in the first set of her match.
To begin the day Academy of Art swept through doubles play with two 8-3 victories and an 8-1 win. The No. 6 nationally ranked twins, Alma and Klara Thell-Lenntorp, defeated the Warriors top pair, Nguyen and
Cassidy Ferrell, only allowing them a single point.
Next weekend the Warriors will be heading west again for matches at Holy Names and Dominican. Stan State will play the Hawks at 11 a.m. on Saturday and take on the Penguins at noon on Sunday.
