For the second consecutive academic year, more than 100 Stanislaus State Warriors were honored with the Presidential Scholar Athlete Award, presented to student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.25 or better at Stan State.

Annually, during the month of April, Warrior scholar-athletes are honored at a campus event with University President Dr. Ellen Junn in attendance. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Warrior Athletics is recognize these outstanding student-athletes virtually, on National Student-Athlete Day.
 
"I am so proud of our Warrior student-athletes. For the second straight year, we have more than 100 student-athletes achieving academic excellence at Stanislaus State," Director of Athletics Terry Donovan said. "Each day, student-athletes strive to become champions in the classroom, champions in their sport and champions in the community. These academic achievers are showing what is possible when you strive for excellence!"
 
The National Student-Athlete Day is April 6, a day started by the National Consortium for Athletics and Sports (now the Institute for Sport & Social Justice) to celebrate the student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.
