TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State's Stevie Holguin has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6 following her performance at the season-opening University of San Francisco Invitational.

Holguin led the No. 12 nationally ranked Warriors to a second-place team finish Friday afternoon at Hellman Hollow in San Francisco. She finished sixth overall in the women's 6K race with a time of 21:00.2 and was the top non-Division I finisher in the field.

Her time was just 3.2 seconds off her collegiate-best 6K mark of 20:57.0, which she recorded last season.

Holguin is the first Warrior to earn the conference's weekly women's cross country honor since Annie Wild was named CCAA Runner of the Week for Sept. 8-14, 2025.

Holguin helped Stan State finish as the top non-Division I team at the meet. The Warriors totaled 82 points to finish behind host San Francisco while placing ahead of Division I programs California Baptist, California, Santa Clara, Stanford, UC Davis, Sacramento State, Pacific and San Jose State.

Stan State, ranked No. 12 nationally and No. 2 in the West Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), placed all five of its scoring runners among the top 30, including three in the top 15.

Holguin finished behind only five Division I runners in the 6K race. Stanford's Julia Flynn captured the individual title in 20:10.3.

The Warriors will return to the course on Saturday, Sept. 12, when they host the Kim Duyst Twilight at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres. The meet, which includes high school and collegiate races, is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., with the collegiate women's 6K race set for 9 p.m.
