TURLOCK, Calif. — Members of the Stan State Men's and Women's Basketball Teams and Stan State Cheerleaders helped welcome students at Crowell Elementary School and Sandra T. Medeiros Elementary School back to the classroom, bringing Warrior spirit and encouragement to the first day of the new school year.
The Warriors greeted students as they arrived on campus with smiles, high-fives and words of encouragement, helping create an energetic and positive atmosphere for students, families and school staff.
"It was really special to be able to come out and welcome the students back to school," said Stan State women's basketball player
Eryn Gardner. "Being part of the community means a lot to us, and we wanted to help make their first day exciting and let them know that we're cheering them on for a great school year."
The visits to Crowell and Sandra T. Medeiros Elementary Schools showcased the Warrior spirit beyond the Stan State campus and continued the university's commitment to supporting schools and families throughout the Central Valley.
By participating in events such as the first-day welcome, Warrior student-athletes and cheerleaders have the opportunity to connect with young students while emphasizing the importance of education, encouragement and community involvement.
