FRESNO –
Amber Huk defeated Gionna Parsa on Thursday at the ITA Regionals in Fresno with a solid score of 6-0, 6-0. She was defeated in round two when she competed against Mary Brascia losing 6-4, 6-2.
Although the Warriors were strong competitors at the tournament, the women were unable to make it to the finals on October 2.
The ITA Regionals put the women against some strong competitors in the state such as Sanne Brull and Alice Di Matteo whom are well known from Fresno Pacific. Both of these women defeated Huk and
Annabelle Mulick in the doubles round 8-3.
Kate Bolton also went up against Sanne Brull in the singles round where she was defeated, 6-0, 6-2. Newcomer
Maya Young put up a fight against Erica Hellbe when she won one roung, 6-2, but ultimately was defeated in a tie breaker of 7-5 (10-6).
Despite the tough tournament, the women will be ready to compete in their final Fall tournament, the Slug Invite, from October 30-31 in Santa Cruz, Calif.
