Warriors to Face No. 3 CSUDH and CSUMB in Final Road Trip of the Regular Season

 TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stanislaus State men's soccer team will travel to Carson, Calif., and Seaside, Calif., for their final road trip of the 2022 regular season.  The Warriors will face No. 3 Cal State Dominguez Hills this Friday, October 14 at 7pm in Carson.  They will travel to Seaside, Calif., this Sunday, October 16 for a 2pm match with Cal State Monterey Bay.    
 
LAST MATCHES:  The Warriors went 0-2 last weekend.  They started the week with a 3-0 at Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday afternoon.  Sammy Villanueva had three of Stan State's nine shot attempts.  Stan State ended its week with a 2-0 loss to Chico State at home on Sunday.  Finn Hoffmann posted two of the Warriors' five shot on goal attempts.    
 
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS:  Stanislaus State is 4-5-4 overall and 1-4-1 in the CCAA. The Warriors are just four points out of the sixth and final spot for the CCAA Championships.  Josh Santillan leads the way for Stan State with his seven goals, two assists and 16 points.  He also has two of the Warriors' four game-winning goals.  Alecxander Cuellar is second on the team with his three goals, one assist and seven points followed by Finn Hoffmann with two goals, two assists and four points.  Cuellar and Hoffman each have a game-winning goal.  Robby Rosas has posted 1.09 goals against average with 31 saves, 5 shutouts and a .721 saves percentage.   
 
AMONGST THE NCAA/CCAA LEADERS:  Josh Santillan and Robby Rosas are still amongst the national leaders in NCAA Division II statistics.  Santillan is 22nd in goals per game (0.70) and 32nd in goals (seven).  Rosas is 14th in the nation with his five shutouts.  In CCAA statistics, Santillan and Rosas are in the top ten in five categories. Santillan is second in points (16), tied for second in game-winning goals (two) and second in goals scored (seven).   
 
#3 TOROS IN REVIEW:  Cal State Dominguez Hills, who is currently third in the United Soccer Coaches Men's Soccer National Poll, is 11-0-2 overall and 5-0-1 in the CCAA. The Toros have won their last five matches in a row including both last week 2-1 versus Sonoma State and 4-0 at SF State.  Their two ties are 3-3 versus Cal Poly Pomona and 2-2 versus Cal State Monterey Bay.  Sulaiman Bah leads the way with his 12 goals, nine assists and 33 points along with his five game-winning goals.  Michael McKibbin is next with six goals and three game-winning goals.  In Sebastian Ascencio has a 0.77 goals against average with 28 saves, three shutouts and a .800 saves percentage. 
 
ALL-TIME SERIES:  The Toros lead the all-time series 10-4-1 including winning the last five in a row including last year in Turlock, 4-1.  The Warriors last defeated CSUDH 2-0 in 2015 in Turlock.    
 
OTTERS IN REVIEW:  Cal State Monterey Bay 5-5-2 overall and 3-3 in the CCAA after going 1-1 last week. The Otters defeated SF State 2-0 at home and lost 3-2 at Sonoma State.  Roberto Banegas leads the way with his six goals, one assist and seven points with two game-winning goals.  Miguel Gerrero and Mason Ward each have scored three goals. Matthias Milton has a 1.27 goals against average with 24 saves, three shutouts and a .667 saves percentage. 
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Warriors lead the all-time series 12-6-5 including winning 3-1 in Turlock last season.  Josh Santillan scored one of the Warriors' three goals.

UP NEXT:  Stan State will finish off the 2022 regular season with a three-match home stand.  The Warriors will host No. 12 Cal State Los Angeles on Fri., Oct. 21 at 7pm, No. 10 Cal Poly Pomona on Sun., Oct. 23 at 2pm and Cal State East Bay on Oct. 27 at 2pm.  Senior Day is set for Oct. 27.
