BILLINGS, Mont.--- Stan State men's cross country team finished in 14
th place out of 21 teams at the 2022 NCAA Division II West Regional Championships. The Warriors finished with 374 points while Chico State captured the regional title with 48 points.
Medhane Woldu paced the Warriors with his 50
th place time of 31:43.2 in the 10K race at Amend Park in Billings, Mont.
WARRIOR FINISHERS: Medhane Woldu was the first Warrior to cross the finish line with his 50
th place time of 31:43.2. He was followed by
Cristian Alcantar who ran a 31:50.1 to finish in 55
th place. Two other Stan State runners placed in the top 100 in
Cooper Freeman (81
st, 33:32.0) and
Adin Dibble (83
rd. 32:32.5). Rounding out the Warrior runners were
Mario Gutierrez (119
th, 33:55.4) and
Austin Hoach (130
th, 34:26.8).
REGIONALS: Chico State captured the West Region men's title with 38 points to punch their ticket to the 2022 NCAA Division II National Men's Cross Country Championships in University Place, Wash., on December 2 as part of the 2022 NCAA Division II Fall Festival hosted by Seattle Pacific. Western Washington finished in second with 82 points followed by Azusa Pacific in third with 111 points.
