TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State men's and women's cross country will open the 2026 season on Friday, Sept. 4, at the USF Invite at Hellman Hollow in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The men's 8K is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., followed by the women's 6K at 3:30 p.m.

MEN'S 2025 RECAP
Stan State finished fourth at the 2025 CCAA Championships, marking one of three top-seven team finishes during the season. The Warriors placed seventh out of 17 teams at the Kim Duyst Twilight before finishing 15th out of 24 teams at the UC Riverside Invitational.

Stan State closed the regular season with a fourth-place finish out of 14 teams at the SF State Invitational. The Warriors followed with a fourth-place finish at the CCAA Championships in Chico before concluding their season with a 13th-place finish out of 24 teams at the NCAA Division II West Regional in Monmouth, Ore.

Mason Oliveira highlighted the Warriors' postseason honors by earning All-CCAA First Team recognition. Oliveira was the lone Stan State men's cross country runner to earn All-CCAA honors in 2025.

MEN'S 2026 ROSTER
The Warriors return a veteran group for the 2026 season, led by juniors Mason Oliveira and Jackson Oliveira. Also returning are senior Diego Cisneros; juniors Jason Arriaza, Tanner Gerhart, Austin Hein and Julian Hernandez; and sophomores Quentin Clarke, Patricio Kearney and Guardave Pandher.

Stan State welcomes three freshmen to this year's roster in Jace Campos (Los Banos/Pacheco HS), Andrew Morales (Turlock/Escalon HS/San Joaquin Delta College) and Larson Wejmar (Turlock/Turlock HS).

MEN'S ACADEMIC HONORS
Stan State earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors following the 2025 season, while Mason Oliveira earned USTFCCCA All-Academic individual recognition.
Austin Hein and Oliveira were named to the CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll. Hein, Julian Hernandez, Patricio Kearney, Oliveira and Guardave Pandher also represented men's cross country/track & field on the 2025-26 CCAA All-Academic Team.

WOMEN'S 2025 RECAP
Stan State is coming off a 2025 season that saw the Warriors advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships and finish 12th out of 34 teams.

The Warriors opened their season by capturing the team title at the Kim Duyst Twilight, finishing first out of 14 teams with 75 points. Stan State followed with a runner-up finish out of 24 teams at the UC Riverside Invitational and placed second out of 13 teams at the SF State Invitational.

Stan State continued its strong season with a runner-up finish at the CCAA Championships, scoring 39 points to place second out of 11 teams. The Warriors then finished fifth out of 28 teams at the NCAA Division II West Regional in Monmouth, Ore., to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Kenosha, Wis.

At the national championships, Stan State placed 12th out of 34 teams with 412 points. Annie Wild led the Warriors and earned All-America honors with a 24th-place finish. Wild was also named All-West Region.  The Warriors concluded the season ranked No. 12 in the nation in the final USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Coaches' Poll.

WOMEN'S 2026 ROSTER
Stan State returns several runners from its 2025 NCAA Division II Championship team, led by seniors Annie Wild and Nina Furtado. Wild earned All-America honors with her 24th-place finish at last year's NCAA Championships, while Wild and Furtado were two of five Warriors to earn All-CCAA First Team honors in 2025. Izzy Soto, who also earned All-CCAA First Team honors, returns for her sophomore season.

The returning group also includes seniors Gianna Bomarito and Risa Reynier; juniors Makenzie Kordic and Aubrey Lascano; and sophomores Roseli Diaz, Stevie Holguin, Megan Silva and Aubrey Webb.  The Warriors welcome freshmen Natalie Arriaza (Patterson/Patterson HS), Sophie Benham (Modesto/Hughson HS), Elizabeth Christopher (Turlock/Turlock HS) and Demiree Dean (Tuolumne/Sonora HS). Sophomore Kekaihulali Halpern (Hilo, Hawaii/Hilo HS) joins Stan State after attending Saint Martin's University.

WOMEN'S ACADEMIC HONORS
The Stan State women's cross country program earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors following the 2025 season. Nina Furtado, Crystal Hernandez, Stevie Holguin, Bela Moreno, Mila Real, Izzy Soto and Annie Wild earned USTFCCCA All-Academic individual recognition, with Wild recognized in both cross country and track & field.

Furtado, Hernandez, Yelena Ordonez, Noheli Ron, Bianca Scott, Pamela Vargas and Wild were named to the CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Roseli Diaz, Hernandez, Holguin, Aubrey Lascano, Megan Silva, Aubrey Webb and Wild also represented women's cross country/track & field on the 2025-26 CCAA All-Academic Team.

Darren Holman serves as Stan State's head cross country coach with Courtney Heiner serving as assistant coach.

USF INVITE FIELD
Stan State will be part of a strong field at Friday's USF Invite. In addition to the Warriors and host University of San Francisco, the meet will feature Cal State East Bay, Dominican, California, Stanford, California Baptist, Sacramento State, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State, Pacific and Santa Clara.

2026 SCHEDULE
Stan State's 2026 schedule features three regular-season meets before the Warriors begin postseason competition in November. Following Friday's season-opening USF Invite, Stan State will host the Kim Duyst Twilight on Saturday, Sept. 12, at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres.

The Kim Duyst Twilight will feature both high school and collegiate races. The Stan State men's 8K is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., followed by the women's 6K at 9 p.m.

The Warriors return to San Francisco on Friday, Oct. 9, for the SF State Invite at Speedway Meadows, with competition scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

The postseason begins Saturday, Nov. 7, when Stan State travels to San Bernardino for the CCAA Cross Country Championships at the CSUSB Cross Country Course. The conference championships are scheduled for 11 a.m.

The NCAA Division II West Regional will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento. The NCAA Division II National Championship is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.

PRESEASON POLLS
The 2026 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II preseason national coaches' poll is scheduled to be released this week. The CCAA's preseason cross country rankings are also expected to be announced this week.
