TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Stan State men's and women's cross country teams, under the guidance of head coach Darren Holman, will open the 2026 season on Friday, Sept. 4, at the USF Invite, hosted by the University of San Francisco at Speedway Meadows in Golden Gate Park.

The Stan State men and women will compete in six meets during the 2026 season. The Warriors open the campaign Sept. 4 at the USF Invite in San Francisco before returning home to host the Kim Duyst Twilight on Sept. 12 at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres. Stan State then travels back to San Francisco for the SF State Invite on Oct. 9 before beginning postseason competition at the CCAA Championships on Nov. 7 in San Bernardino. The NCAA Division II West Regional is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Sacramento, with the NCAA Division II National Championships set for Dec. 4 at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kansas.

The Warrior women enter the season looking to build on one of the finest campaigns in program history. Stan State captured the team title at the Kim Duyst Twilight, finished second at both the UC Riverside Invite and SF State Invite, and placed second at the CCAA Championships. The Warriors earned a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II West Regional to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships, where they placed 12th in the nation.
Annie Wild earned USTFCCCA All-America honors with a 24th-place finish.

The women's squad returns one of the CCAA's strongest cores after placing 12th nationally in 2025. Wild returns after earning USTFCCCA All-America, All-West Region and All-CCAA First Team honors. She is joined by returning All-CCAA First Team selections Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva, Nina Furtado and Izzy Soto, along with Gianna Bomarito, Vanessa Diaz, Makenzie Kordic, Risa Reynier, and Bianca Scott.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its postseason academic honors, recognizing the Stan State women's cross country team as an All-Academic Team. Wild, Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva, Nina Furtado and Izzy Soto also earned individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

The Warrior men are coming off another solid season that saw them place seventh at the Kim Duyst Twilight, 15th at the UC Riverside Invitational and fourth at the SF State Invite before finishing fourth at the CCAA Championships and 13th at the NCAA Division II West Regional.

Stan State returns a talented group led by All-CCAA First Team performer Mason Oliveira along with Tanner Gerhart and Jackson Oliveira. The trio headlines a veteran squad that also returns Diego Cisneros, Jason Arriaza, Austin Hein, Julian Hernandez, and Patricio Kearney.

The USTFCCCA also recognized the Stan State men's cross country team as an All-Academic Team, while Mason Oliveira earned individual All-Academic honors.
Both teams will look to qualify for the NCAA Division II West Regional before setting their sights on the NCAA Division II National Championships in December.
