MONMOUTH, Ore. — The Stanislaus State men's cross country team placed 13th with 338 points at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships on Saturday morning at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon. The 10-kilometer race featured one of the nation's strongest fields, including four nationally ranked programs: No. 11 Chico State, No. 16 Cal Poly Pomona, No. 20 Alaska Anchorage, and No. 23 Northwest Nazarene.

Mason Oliveira led the Warriors with a 26th-place finish in 30:34.7, finishing just one spot shy of earning USTFCCCA All-West Region honors, which are awarded to the top 25 individual finishers. He was followed closely by twin brother Jackson Oliveira in 35th (30:59.3). Tanner Gerhart ran 66th in 31:40.0, while freshman Patricio Kearney was 89th (32:26.8) and Evan Silva rounded out the scoring five in 122nd (33:13.1). Freshmen Jonathan Hupman (152nd, 34:53.7) and Quentin Clarke (155th, 35:07.8) completed the lineup for Stanislaus State.

Chico State (No. 11) captured the team title with 75 points, followed by Western Washington (No. 20) with 88 and Cal Poly Pomona (No. 16) with 97, as those three programs earned the West Region's automatic berths to the NCAA Division II National Championships. Individually, Northwest Nazarene's Grady Mylander (29:35.4) and Alaska Anchorage's John Peckham (29:36.6) were the top two finishers not on qualifying teams, earning automatic individual bids to nationals.

The top three teams from each NCAA Division II regional meet automatically qualify for the national championship. For individual qualifiers, the top two finishers who are not on an automatically qualifying team earn a spot, along with all other individuals who finish in the top five at the regional and are not on a qualifying team. Following the automatic qualifiers, the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country Committee will announce at-large team and individual selections on Monday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. ET on www.ncaa.com, to complete the championship field.

This year's NCAA Division II National Championships will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
