NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Stan State men's cross country program, coached by
Darren Holman, earned national academic recognition as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division II All-Academic Team honors.
Individually,
Mason Oliveira was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, recognizing his success both academically and competitively.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among additional eligibility requirements.
Teams qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors by posting a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, inclusive of grades from the most recent grading period.
Stan State men's cross country delivered a consistent and competitive 2025 season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the CCAA Championships, marking the program's fifth consecutive top-four conference result.
Mason Oliveira led the Warriors throughout the postseason, earning All-CCAA First Team honors after a 15th-place finish at the conference meet. Oliveira also led Stan State at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships, placing 26th in the 10-kilometer race with a time of 30:34.7 at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon. Competing in one of the nation's deepest regional fields, Oliveira finished just one spot shy of earning USTFCCCA All-West Region honors, awarded to the top 25 individual finishers.
