LAST GAME: Stan State fought hard until from start to finish in their final home game of five straight at the Fitz. With a tight finish being decided in the final seconds of play, the Warriors weren't able to collect the win against Cal Poly Pomona.
Makayla Rose, however showed flashes of why she is the conference's leading scorer, erupting for a career-high 38 points on the day.
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS: The team will aim to snap the losing streak on the road, as they are now 4-12 overall, with a 3-7 home record and 1-4 record in hostile territory.
AMONGST THE CCAA LEADERS: The Warriors have still done a solid job of forcing turnovers at the defensive end of the floor. They have risen to 2
nd in blocked shots as a team, averaging 3.63 per game, while ranking 3
rd in steals per game (9.88). They are still the 3
rd best offensive rebounding team in the conference as well (14.3 per game). Rose has upped her scoring average to 18.6 ppg after her big performance against the Broncos. She remains at the top of the scoring list in the CCAA. Her shooting percentage has increased to 41.7%, bringing her up a spot to 10
th in the conference. Rose is also 2
nd in steals averaging 3.0 swipes per game. Meanwhile,
Joia Armstrong is now 4
th in blocks per game with a 1.2 average.
SAN FRANCISCO STATE: The Gators have gone 7-9 overall and 3-7 in the conference this year. Their offensive efficiency could be a problem against a scrappy Warriors team, and they are a middle-of-the-pack rebounding team on both ends of the floor. Their leading scorer Sophomore guard Mya Blake is averaging 14.8 ppg and can score efficiently on all three levels.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Since 2008, the teams have exchanged an even 13-13 all-time record. The Gators took the most recent two victories a season ago at both venues.
CAL STATE MONTEREY BAY: The Otters are a spot above the Warriors in the CCAA, having yet to win a conference game so far this season. They are not a great shooting team and struggle in the rebounding category as well. They are headlined by their Senior guard Lauryn Pointer, who is averaging 14.8 ppg.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Stanislaus State leads the historic matchup between these two teams dating back to 2008. The Warriors have bested Monterey Bay in their last seven games since 2018.
