Box Score O'ahu, Hawaii – Stan State had their second dual of the season against a tough #4 ranked Hawaii Pacific squad. Despite being underdogs in the faceoff, the Warriors stole games in all but one set of doubles and singles matches.
SINGLES: The team couldn't quite find a groove in their individual matches against the Sharks, however some of the Warriors' best efforts came from
Alyssa Tay who took three games in each of her two sets (6-3, 6-3).
Maya Young also held her own, stealing four games in her opening set (6-4, 6-1).
DOUBLES: Doubles play saw its share of ebbs and flows, as the Warriors ended their final match with a draw.
Jaedyn Hendryx and Young caused the 3-3 tie as a tandem against some sturdy competition to the Sharks. Warriors Head Coach
Verek Visaraga gave his thoughts on the squad's showing, "We competed well (against) the top 5 team in the nation," said Coach Visaraga. "This match will help us to prepare for a big match against Hawaii-Hilo tomorrow." It will be a big match for the team indeed, as the 2-1 Vulcans came into the PacWest preseason polls ranked two spots ahead of the Warriors.
UP NEXT: Stanislaus State will meet Hawaii Hilo tomorrow morning at 9am HT / 11am PT before they head back home to Turlock.
