Stan State Men Finish in Third at CCAA Championships

FRESNO, Calif. --- The Stan State men's cross country team participated in the California Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) Championship in Fresno, California. In a field of nine teams, the Warriors placed third, matching their position from last year.
 
WARRIORS OVERALL: Three Warriors finished in the top 15, in Tanner Gerhart (10th, 24:34.7), Jackson Oliveira (13th, 24:42.3), and Mason Oliveira (15th, 24:44.7). Gerhart's performance earned him CCAA Newcomer of the Year, and Jackson Oliveira earned CCAA Freshman of the Year for his finish. The remaining Stan State runners were Dominic Robles (18th, 24:50.1), Abe Alsaidi (20th, 24:54.6), Adin Dibble (26th, 25:09), and Brody Vecchione (53rd, 26:31).

CCAA AWARDS: Alongside Gerhart's Newcomer of the Year award and Jackson Oliveira's Freshman of the Year Award, Chico State's Mario Giannani took home the Runner of the Year award. Damian Bonds from Cal State Los Angeles earned the Elite 13 Award. Tanner Gerhart, Jackson Oliveira, and Mason Oliveira earned All-CCAA team honors for their top 15 finishes.
 
TEAM SCORES: Chico State finished in first (18 points), followed by Cal Poly Pomona in second (55 points), Stanislaus State in third (76 points), Cal State San Marcos in fourth (99 points),  Cal Poly Humboldt in fifth (133 points), Cal State East Bay in sixth (158 points), Cal State Monterey Bay in seventh (216 points), Cal State LA in eighth (238 points), and SF State in ninth (242 points).
 
UP NEXT: On November 9th, the NCAA Division II West Regional will take place at Amend Park in Billings, Montana.  The men's 10k will begin at 10:00 a.m. MST (9:00 a.m. PST) followed by the women's 6k at 11:15 a.m. MST (10:15 a.m. PST). A link to results will be posted once the event is closer.
