TURLOCK, Calif. --- Stan State (10-4, 3-3 CCAA) took on #21 California State San Bernardino (8-5, 4-2 CCAA) tonight and swept them in three straight sets (25-19, 25-22, 25-22), snapping the Coyotes four-game win streak. The Warriors finished their four game home stand 1-3, but this win will give them momentum going into their two road games.
FIRST SET: The set started out in San Bernardino's favor, but a string of kills brought the score quickly to 10-5 with the Warriors on top. Ten blocks in set one alone, with solo blocks by
Alex Byrd and
Christallynn Tate, kept Stan State ahead to take the set 25-19.
SECOND SET: The Warriors got off to a strong start in set two, finding and early lead and keeping it. Unfortunately, a string of attacking errors allowed San Bernardino to come even, but Stan State found their rhythm once again and closed out the set with kills from
Makenna Carrillo and
Alex Byrd, 25-22.
THIRD SET: The Coyotes started set three with a 3-9 lead, causing the Warriors to have to take the first time out of the set. It proved valuable as Stan battled back to bring the score to 10-11. The Warriors' offense continued to find the floor, claiming the third and final set 25-22.

Haley Burdo both recorded double-doubles, with Burdo's moving her within single digits of breaking the school's all-time career assists record. This win against #21 Cal State San Bernardino also marks the first time the Warriors has swept the team in the 46 times they have faced them, from 1998 to 2024.
Lauren Flowers now takes the lead with the most wins against top 25 teams of any volleyball coach in Stan State history.
UP NEXT: Stan State has two road games against #19 California State Los Angeles (9-4, 4-2 CCAA) and California State Dominguez Hills (5-9, 2-4 CCAA) before the Warriors return home on October 15
th at 1:00 p.m. for a match against Chico State (6-7, 3-3 CCAA).
