AZUSA, Calif.--- The Warriors women's tennis team began its play at the ITA West Regional today in Azusa, Calif. Stan State's doubles team secured a win in the round of 32 as the highlight of today's matches. Overall, two singles players advanced to the quarterfinals and Abbigail Mulick had a close match in the semifinals.
 
"It was a bit of a rough start for us today," said head coach Verek Visaraga. "This ITA tournament for the rest of the weekend will give us some opportunities to work on more consistent hitting patterns."

The rest of the tournament gave the Warriors some opportunities indeed as Abbigail Mulick and Annabelle Mulick moved on to the quarterfinals. Deepalakshmi Vanaraja of Dominican Univ. of California unfortunately proved too difficult of an opponent for both of them, as Annabelle lost her match in the quarters to her while Abbigail took Vanaraja to a tiebreaker set in the semifinals.

Women's tennis will return to the courts on October 11^th at the ART U Invitational hosted by Academy of Art.
