Four Warriors Earn All-CCAA Honors; Maragos Named Freshman of the Year

11/11/2025 3:01:00 PM

TURLOCK, Calif.--- Four members of the Stanislaus State women's soccer team, coached by Gabriel Bolton, earned spots on the 2025 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Team, highlighted by freshman forward Olivia Maragos, who was voted the league's Freshman of the Year. Junior forward Aliah Avila was named to the All-CCAA First Team, while junior goalkeeper Zara Mujica and senior defender Makeila Yancey received Honorable Mention recognition.

Maragos made an immediate impact in her debut season, leading the Warriors with seven goals and 15 points while appearing in all 19 matches. The Ripon native tallied three game-winning goals, including one in Stan State's 5–0 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills, and was one of only two freshmen in the conference to earn a spot on the first or second team.

Avila, from Madera, earned All-CCAA honors for the third consecutive season and landed on the First Team for the second straight year. She continued to be a driving force in the Warriors' midfield and attack, recording four goals and seven assists and matching Maragos for the team lead with 15 total points. Avila converted both of her penalty-kick attempts and started all 19 matches as one of the conference's most dynamic playmakers.

Mujica, a junior from Cardiff, Wales, earned All-CCAA honors in her first season as a Warrior after transferring from Sacramento State. She quickly established herself as one of the league's top goalkeepers, posting a 0.93 goals-against average, 66 saves, and six shutouts in 19 starts. Her composure and shot-stopping ability anchored a Stan State defense that allowed fewer than one goal per match.

Yancey, a senior from Brentwood, earned her third straight All-CCAA honor after once again anchoring the Warriors' back line. She started all 19 contests and played a key role in limiting opponents to just 17 goals all season. In addition to her defensive leadership, Yancey contributed offensively with one goal and two assists — including a key assist in the 2–1 win over Cal State San Marcos — showcasing her ability to impact both ends of the field.

The Warriors, are 11-4-4 overall and 6-3-2 in CCAA play. This marks Stanislaus State's sixth straight appearance in the CCAA postseason, and the Warriors will face Chico State in the semifinals on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Pomona.  In this week's United Soccer Coaches Rankings, Stan State is receiving votes nationally.
