KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Stan State women's soccer closed a successful 2025 campaign receiving votes in the final United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll, released on December 16. The Warriors earned national recognition after finishing the year with an 11-5-4 overall record, including a third-place finish in the CCAA regular-season standings, six conference victories, and a 7-3-1 home mark, as shown in the program's final statistics report.
Stan State outscored opponents 31–19 across 20 matches while posting eight shutouts, led by goalkeeper
Zara Mujica, who recorded a 0.97 goals-against average, 68 saves, and a .782 save percentage in more than 1,760 minutes of action. Offensively, the Warriors produced a balanced attack with
Olivia Maragos finishing as the team's leading scorer with seven goals, while
Aliah Avila totaled 17 points on five goals and seven assists. The Warriors were also perfect from the spot, converting all five of their penalty kicks and securing six one-goal victories throughout the season.
The Warriors were one of several West Region programs represented in the final poll, joining Simon Fraser, Point Loma, Dominican, Cal State LA, Chico State, and Cal State San Marcos among the teams receiving votes. Florida Tech claimed the No. 1 national ranking after winning the NCAA Division II Championship.
Stan State's receiving-votes finish caps a year defined by defensive consistency, timely scoring, and steady statistical growth, reaffirming the program's continued presence in the national conversation.

Stan State's strong season was reflected in an impressive collection of postseason accolades.
Aliah Avila highlighted the awards haul with D2CCA First Team and United Soccer Coaches First Team All-West Region honors, while
Makeila Yancey added a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-West Region selection. Within the CCAA, Avila earned First Team recognition,
Olivia Maragos was named to the Second Team, and
Zara Mujica and Yancey each received Honorable Mention honors. Maragos also captured one of the conference's top individual awards as the CCAA Freshhnman of the Year, and Avila was additionally recognized for her postseason performance with a selection to the CCAA All-Tournament Team. Zara Mujica tied for second in total saves, ranked sixth in goals-against average, placed fourth in shutouts, and finished tenth in save percentage. As a team, Stan State ranked third in goals scored, second in scoring margin, and sixth in total saves, highlighting the Warriors' balanced strength in both attack and defense.

Zara Mujica added her name to the shutouts chart as well, finishing the season with 6.5 clean sheets, good for tenth place in program history. Gabriel Bolton has led Stan State women's soccer through one of the most consistently successful eras in program history, guiding the Warriors to sustained competitiveness across two decades. Since his arrival in 2006, Bolton has produced numerous winning seasons, highlighted by CCAA Championships in 2011 and 2013, an NCAA West Region title in 2014, and a pair of CCAA regular-season crowns, most recently in 2022. Under his direction, Stan State has advanced regularly to postseason play, including deep CCAA Championship runs and four NCAA Tournament appearances. The program has recorded double-digit win totals in 13 seasons during his tenure, including standout campaigns in 2013 (18-1-2), 2014 (16-4-2), 2019 (15-6-0), 2022 (10-4-4), 2024 (10-8-2), and 2025 (11-5-4). Year after year, Bolton's squads have remained among the conference's most competitive, cementing his legacy as one of the most accomplished coaches in Stan State women's soccer history.
