Stan State Travels to Arizona for PacWest Championships Tournament

TURLOCK, Calif.--- For the third consecutive year, Stan State is headed to Surprise, Arizona this week to participate in the PacWest Championship Tournament from April 16-19. The Warriors are entering at the ninth seed, and will play Metropolitan State University of Denver on April 16th at 9:00 a.m.
 
LAST WEEK: The Warriors finished their regular season this past week, ending with a 11-6 record. They first celebrated Senior Day in an exhibition match on April 10th, which provided good practice for their final regular season game on April 11th versus Academy of Art. Stan State were victorious 4-3 despite dropping the doubles point. Abbigail Mulick and Parker Orlando were the first doubles team to finish and won 6-1. The Warriors earned four of the singles points, with one default, to win the match and sweep the season series versus Academy of Art.
 
STAN STATE WARRIORS: Stan State finished their regular season 11-6 overall and 11-3 in conference, with two of their losses coming from Division I opponents. Abbigail Mulick and Parker Orlando finished with a 9-4 record with Emma Yu and Annabelle Mulick holding a 9-8 record. Orlando recorded a 12-3 record in singles during the spring season. Abbigail Mulick and Annabelle Mulick both hold 9-6 records.
 
ROADRUNNERS: MSU-Denver heads into the PacWest Tournament 12-12 overall. The Roadrunners went through the spring season with only two matches in which they did not win a single set, with one of those opponents being conference leader Azusa Pacific. They had four sweeps with two 7-0 wins and two 4-0 wins. Victoria Ricuarte-Cabas holds the best singles record at 5-4.
 
UP NEXT: With a win, the Warriors will move to the quarterfinals on Thursday, April 17th beginning at 9:00 a.m. With a loss, they will play in the consolation bracket, where matches begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday as well.
