This Week in Warrior Sports
(Jan. 12–18, 2026)
Stan State's indoor track and field team returns to competition this week at the Nevada Invitational in Reno, Nev., on Jan. 16–17, continuing the early portion of the indoor season and building on a strong season-opening performance that included multiple all-time marks and a national provisional qualifier.
Both Stan State women's and men's basketball teams also begin a key two-week stretch at home, playing three of their next four games at The Fitz. The Warriors host San Francisco State on Thursday, Jan. 15, with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men following at 7:30 p.m., before welcoming Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Jan. 17, with a 1 p.m. start for the women and 3 p.m. for the men. The homestand continues with a home-and-away series against UC Merced, beginning with a road matchup on Jan. 22 before the Warriors return home to host the Bobcats on Jan. 24.
Saturday, Jan. 24 will also feature the induction of the Class of 2026 into the Stan State Department of Athletics Hall of Fame, with a ceremony beginning at 9:30 a.m. and inductees recognized at halftime of the men's basketball game.
Warriors 7–7 Heading into This Week
Stan State men's basketball continues CCAA play as the Warriors return to The Fitz for a pair of home conference matchups. Stan State hosts San Francisco State on Thursday night before welcoming No. 10 Cal State East Bay on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors are led offensively by
Donjae Lindsey, who averages 13.0 points per game, followed by
Malachi Johnson at 11.9 points per game and
Daniel Ameyaw at 9.1 points per game. Johnson also leads Stan State on the glass, averaging 7.1 rebounds per game, while Ameyaw adds 5.9 rebounds per contest. Lindsey is the team's most efficient shooter at 56.3 percent from the field, while
Jason Zimmer leads the Warriors with 23 made three-pointers.
Tahjae Ordonio tops the team at the free-throw line, shooting 91.7 percent, and
Lloyd French leads Stan State with 34 assists. Defensively, French also leads the team with 16 steals, while
Malachi Johnson anchors the interior with a team-high 13 blocked shots. As a team, the Warriors are averaging 72.8 points per game, shooting 44.9 percent from the field, and pulling down 34.6 rebounds per contest.
Warriors Return Home to Host Bay Area Rivals
Stan State women's basketball continues CCAA play this week as the Warriors return to The Fitz for a pair of home conference matchups. Stan State hosts San Francisco State on Thursday evening before welcoming Cal State East Bay on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors are led offensively by
MilaSarai Tau, who paces the team with 12.5 points per game, followed by
Eryn Gardner and
Alyssa Premo, who are both averaging 9.8 points per game. Gardner also leads Stan State on the glass with 8.1 rebounds per game and tops the team with 22 assists, while Premo contributes 3.1 rebounds per game and has knocked down 29 free throws on the season. As a team, the Warriors are averaging 56.6 points per game and 37.5 rebounds per contest as they continue conference play.
Warriors Wrap Up Successful 2025 Fall Seasons
Stan State Athletics closed the 2025 fall season with one of its strongest overall performances in recent years, finishing second in the CCAA Commissioner's Cup and 38th nationally in the Learfield Directors' Cup Division II fall standings — the program's best fall national finish in more than a decade. The Warriors earned points across men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball, highlighted by a CCAA Tournament championship and NCAA Third Round appearance in men's soccer, a 12th-place national finish by women's cross country, a fourth-place CCAA finish for volleyball, and continued postseason success for women's soccer.
Indoor Track & Field Returns to Reno
Stan State women's indoor track and field returns to action Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16–17, at the Nevada Invitational in Reno, Nev. The season opener saw multiple Warriors move into the Stan State all-time top-10 lists, including
Reyna Dismukes in the 60-meter dash (8.12, No. 8) and long jump (18-5, No. 3),
Ahlia Albergottie in the 60-meter hurdles (9.56, No. 9), and
Mila Real in the 200 meters (25.40, No. 2).
Alexis Nino's school-record shot put of 45 feet, 7 inches (13.89m) currently ranks 17th nationally and provisionally qualifies her for the 2025–26 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for March 12–14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Baseball Season Opens January 31
Stan State baseball opens the 2026 season at home by hosting Central Washington in a four-game, two-day non-conference series at Warrior Baseball Field. The Warriors will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Friday, Jan. 31, followed by another doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday, Feb. 1. Stan State will continue its early non-conference schedule with additional home games before opening CCAA play March 6–8 with a four-game series against Cal State East Bay in Turlock. The postseason begins with the CCAA Championships, set for May 6–9 at Fiscalini Field in San Bernardino, Calif., with advancement leading into NCAA regional and national competition.
Softball Opens Season February 6; Stan State Invitational Feb. 12–15
Stan State softball opens the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 6, at the D2 West Coast Challenge in Lake Elsinore, Calif., beginning with games against Western Oregon and Biola on opening day. The Warriors will face Concordia Irvine and Azusa Pacific on Saturday before closing the weekend against Lubbock Christian on Sunday. Stan State will then return home to host the Stan State Invitational from Feb. 12–15 at Warrior Softball Field, opening the tournament with a 2 p.m. game against Dominican on Feb. 12, followed by matchups against Central Washington, Saint Martin's, and Menlo. The Warriors will open CCAA play on the road March 6–7 at Cal State San Marcos. Postseason play begins at the CCAA Championships, scheduled for May 6–9 at Pioneer Softball Field in Hayward, Calif., with NCAA postseason play to follow for qualifying teams.
Men's Golf Set for Spring Play
Stan State men's golf returns to action this spring with a competitive schedule designed to prepare the Warriors for postseason contention. Ranked 11th in the region according to SCOREBOARD by clippd, Stan State enters the spring with a 295.83 team scoring average after facing strong regional and national competition during the fall. The Warriors open the spring season Feb. 9–10 at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational in Vista, Calif., before competing at the Visit Stockton DII Invitational later in the month. March features key events including the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout and the Coyote Classic, while the regular season concludes April 13–14 with the 51st annual Jim Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at Turlock Golf & Country Club. Postseason play begins at the CCAA Championships, with qualifying teams advancing to NCAA regional and national championship competition.
Women's Tennis Returns to Action
Stan State women's tennis opens its 2025–26 spring season on Feb. 7, hosting American River College at the Stan State Tennis Courts to begin a busy and balanced schedule. The Warriors will play a mix of non-conference and PacWest matches throughout the spring, including home contests against UC Davis, Jessup, Hawaiʻi Pacific, Dominican, Menlo, Azusa Pacific, and Fresno Pacific. Road challenges include trips to Fresno Pacific, Menlo, Concordia Irvine, and Dominican, along with neutral-site matches in Fresno and Modesto. The regular season leads into the PacWest Conference Championships, scheduled for April 15–18 in Surprise, Ariz., followed by NCAA Division II West Regional and National Championship play in May for qualifying teams.
Five Honorees Selected to 2026 Stanislaus State Athletics Hall of Fame Class
Stanislaus State Athletics announced the Class of 2026 Hall of Fame, which will be honored at the Hall of Fame Brunch Awards Ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at the Stanislaus State Event Center. The class includes Blue Chip Broadcasting (Eric Davis and Bryan Nelson), former multi-sport standout Katie Busi, longtime athletics leader Milt Richards, Major League Baseball All-Star and former Warrior Joe Ryan, and the historic 2014 Women's Soccer Team, which captured the NCAA West Region Championship and advanced to the national quarterfinals. Crab Feed Set for February 28, 2026
Warrior Athletics has announced the return of its annual Crab Feed, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026. Proceeds from the event benefit Warrior Athletics scholarships and support student-athletes across all programs.
Milestone Watch
Daniel Ameyaw recorded five rebounds to surpass 500 career rebounds at Stan State, becoming the fifth Warrior in program history to reach the milestone. He now has 502 career rebounds.

Malachi Johnson | Men's Basketball
Johnson turned in a productive two-game weekend on the Southern California road trip, averaging 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He opened the week with 14 points and 13 rebounds at Cal State LA for his third double-double of the season, shooting 7-for-16 from the field in 32 minutes, then followed with 17 points and eight rebounds at Cal State Dominguez Hills while going 6-for-12 from the floor and a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line in 30 minutes, totaling 31 points and 21 rebounds across the two contests.
Alyssa Premo | Women's Basketball
Premo put together a strong two-game weekend on the Southern California road trip, averaging 18.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. She scored 16 points at Cal State LA, shooting 7-for-10 from the field while adding four rebounds in 29 minutes, then followed with a team-high 21 points at Cal State Dominguez Hills, going 7-for-13 from the floor and 6-for-10 at the free-throw line while pulling down five rebounds and recording two steals in 34 minutes, finishing the weekend with 37 total points.
