Ameyaw Becomes Fifth Warrior to Reach 500 Career Rebounds

CARSON, Calif.Daniel Ameyaw added another milestone to his Stan State career on Saturday, becoming just the fifth player in program history to record 500 career rebounds during the Warriors' road contest at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Ameyaw reached the mark early in the matchup, securing his 500th career board. He has been a mainstay in the Warriors' frontcourt since the 2022–23 season and earned All-CCAA Honorable Mention recognition during the 2024–25 campaign.

Across 84 career games, Ameyaw has totaled 502 rebounds, averaging 6.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 50.5 percent from the field. He has also scored 605 career points, averaging 7.2 points per contest, and now ranks fifth on Stan State's all-time career rebounding list, trailing Rick Wright (1,108), Gerry Rodriguez (582), Shawn Graham (560), and Brian Hall (520).

During the 2024–25 season, Ameyaw averaged 9.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49.2 percent from the field. He recorded three double-doubles, scored a career-high 21 points against UC Merced, and added 33 assists, 10 blocked shots, and 12 steals. He was also named to the CCAA All-Academic Team and earned department Honor Roll recognition in both the fall and spring semesters.

Ameyaw has recorded nine career double-doubles, including a 14-point, 12-rebound performance in Stan State's win over Fresno Pacific on Nov. 15, 2025.

Ameyaw's career highs include 21 points against UC Merced (Nov. 23, 2024), 14 rebounds at Cal State Los Angeles (Dec. 9, 2023), five assists versus Western Oregon (Nov. 17, 2023), two steals on three occasions, and three blocks against Sioux Falls (Nov. 18, 2023).

This season, Ameyaw's highs include 16 points at Menlo (Nov. 19, 2025), 12 rebounds against Fresno Pacific (Nov. 15, 2025), four assists versus Cal Maritime (Nov. 29, 2025), one steal on three occasions, one block three times, seven field goals made at Dominican (Nov. 22, 2025), one three-pointer against Cal State Monterey Bay (Jan. 2, 2026), and five free throws made versus Cal Maritime (Nov. 29, 2025).

The Warriors will return home to host SF State on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with No. 10 Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m. Stan State will then face UC Merced in a home-and-home series to close the first half of the CCAA season, traveling to Merced for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Thursday, Jan. 22, before returning to The Fitz to host the Bobcats on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 3 p.m. as part of Golden Valley Health Center Day.
