TURLOCK, Calif. — Stanislaus State women's tennis prepares to begin the 2026 spring season with a competitive PacWest schedule that will challenge the Warriors throughout the spring. After a strong 2025 showing that led to a 12-9 season in 2025, Stan State returns to the court looking to build on its momentum and position itself for a return to the PacWest Conference Championships.
Led by veteran head coach Verek Visaraga, now entering his 23rd season at the helm, the Warriors open the spring campaign at home on Saturday, Feb. 7, welcoming Jessup University to the Stan State Tennis Courts. The early portion of the schedule features a blend of non-conference and PacWest opponents designed to sharpen the lineup and provide valuable match experience.
Stan State will face several non-conference opponents throughout February and March, including UC Davis, Illinois State, Saint Mary's College, and American River College. Those matches will allow the Warriors to test different lineups and gain experience against a variety of playing styles before the heart of the PacWest schedule.
PacWest coaches picked Stanislaus State in a tie for seventh place in the 2026 preseason poll after the Warriors posted a 12-9 overall record last season. Stan State returns key contributors from its singles lineup, including No. 2 Emma Yu, Abbigail Mulick, Parker Orlando, and Maiah White, while also adding four freshmen to provide depth across singles and doubles.
Conference play intensifies in March with a series of key home matches at the Stan State Tennis Courts. The Warriors will host Hawaii Pacific on March 11, followed by PacWest contests against Dominican on March 15 and Menlo College on March 20. Hawaii Pacific finished near the top of the PacWest standings in 2025 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, while Menlo returns multiple starters from a team that consistently competed for postseason positioning.
Stan State will close the regular season with several marquee PacWest matchups that could play a significant role in postseason seeding. The Warriors travel to Point Loma on April 4, facing the Sea Lions after Point Loma finished 20-5 last season and reached the NCAA quarterfinals while claiming the PacWest title. The regular season finale comes at home on April 8, when Stan State hosts Azusa Pacific, a 21-5 team in 2025 that also advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. The Cougars and Sea Lions were picked to share the top spot in the 2026 PacWest preseason coaches poll.
With a schedule built to balance preparation and competition, the Warriors will use each match to position themselves among the top eight teams in the conference standings. Stan State will look to carry momentum into the PacWest Conference Championships in April and compete for a spot in the NCAA postseason.
