TEMPE, Ariz. — The Stan State women's tennis team continued its tradition of excellence in the classroom, earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors for the 2025-26 academic year. In addition, eight Warriors were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The Warriors posted a team grade point average of 3.73, exceeding the 3.20 GPA requirement for ITA All-Academic Team status and improving upon last season's 3.67 mark.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the academic year and be listed on the team's eligibility roster.
Representing Stan State on this year's ITA Scholar-Athlete list were Katrine Damkjær, Alessandra Del Pino Carvajal, Emi Mikami, Abbigail Mulick, Parker Orlando, Megan Schweitzer, Maiah White, and Emma Yu.
The academic recognition adds to an impressive year both on and off the court for the Warriors. Stan State finished the season with an 8-11 overall record and a 7-6 mark in PacWest play, earning a berth in the PacWest Championships and concluding the year with a 4-1 victory over Dominican in the seventh-place match.
The Warriors also earned recognition from College Sports Communicators earlier this spring, as Parker Orlando, Maiah White, and Emma Yu were named CSC Academic All-District® selections.
In addition to the national and conference academic honors, the women's tennis program was recognized as the Stan State Team Academic Award recipient, continuing a long-standing tradition of success in the classroom. All eight ITA Scholar-Athletes were also named to the Stan State Athletics Honor Roll during the academic year.
Under head coach Verek Visaraga, the Warriors have established one of the department's strongest academic cultures, consistently balancing success in competition with excellence in the classroom.
The ITA All-Academic Team award marks another milestone for a program that continues to set a high standard both on the court and in the classroom.
