Outdoor track & field hosts the Kim Duyst Invitational this Friday–Saturday, March 6–7, at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium. Friday's events begin at 10 a.m., with Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Senior Day will take place Saturday morning as the Warriors recognize Reyna Dismukes, Crystal Hernandez, Justice McDermott, Timothy Miles, Bela Moreno, Mason Phillips, Chris Ruiz, and Jules Sanchez. Stan State enters the first full week of March with conference play taking center stage. Baseball begins CCAA action at home this weekend with a four-game series against Cal State East Bay, opening Friday at 6 p.m., continuing with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, and concluding Sunday at noon. Softball also opens CCAA play on the road against No. 1 Cal State San Marcos with a noon doubleheader Friday and an 11 a.m. doubleheader Saturday.

Softball Opens CCAA Play at 11–5 Overall
Softball enters conference play at 11–5 overall, including a 5–1 record at home, while batting .285 as a team with 120 hits and 64 RBI through 16 games. Katelyn Bridgeman leads the lineup with a .429 average, 24 hits, 19 runs scored, and 12 RBI. Malia Babasa is hitting .380 with 19 hits and nine RBI, while Katrina Rodriguez (.379) and Ava Montesdeoca (.333) continue to provide steady production. Nat Camarena adds two home runs and 11 RBI. In the circle, Stan State carries a 3.17 team ERA led by Alexis Camberos (3–0, 2.19 ERA) and Alexandria Himes (5–2, 2.53 ERA, 19 strikeouts), with Camberos and Camarena each recording a save.

Warriors Await NCAA Indoor Championship Selections
Stan State has five performances currently on the NCAA Division II national list as the Warriors await the official championship field announcement Tuesday, March 3, on NCAA.com for the 2025–26 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for March 12–14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mila Real ranks 48th nationally in the 400 meters (55.63), Annie Wild sits 22nd in the 800 meters (2:09.90) and sixth in the mile (4:41.94), the distance medley relay team of Crystal Hernandez, Mila Real, Marissa Soto, and Annie Wild ranks 16th nationally (11:38.87), and Alexis Niño is 12th nationally in the shot put (15.15m).

Baseball Begins CCAA Season at Home
Baseball opens CCAA play this weekend against Cal State East Bay with a 9–8 overall record and a 6–5 mark at home. The Warriors are batting .287 with 162 hits, 14 home runs, and 96 RBI through 17 games, led by Kian Sanchez (.452, 28 hits, 16 RBI), Mason Kelley (.313, 15 RBI), and AJ Carter (.342, 14 RBI). On the mound, Stan State carries a 3.45 ERA with 103 strikeouts in 141.0 innings. Austin Balentine is 4–1 with a 3.20 ERA, Rocco Gurrola is 1–0 with a 2.78 ERA, and Eli Blurton has two saves.

Men's Basketball Finishes Regular Season with Win at SF State
Men's basketball closed the regular season with a 65–56 road win at SF State to finish 13–15 overall and 9–13 in CCAA play, including a 7–6 record away from home. The Warriors averaged 71.5 points per game while shooting .450 from the field, .328 from three-point range, and .683 at the free-throw line, holding opponents to .431 shooting with a +1.2 rebounding margin. Stan State also averaged 6.0 steals and 2.8 blocked shots per game, with Lloyd French leading the team with 34 steals and Malachi Johnson recording a team-high 32 blocked shots. Johnson led the team with 12.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, Donjae Lindsey added 12.0 points per contest, and French contributed 10.1 points and a team-high 60 assists.

Warriors to Host Kim Duyst Invitational March 6–7; Senior Day on Saturday
On Feb. 21, Stan State track & field opened the outdoor season at the Sunbird Invitational with multiple provisional national qualifying marks and all-time performances. Alexis Niño recorded provisional marks in the hammer (175-11) and shot put (46-4), while Justice McDermott moved into the program's top 10 in the javelin (160-7). Andrew Bishop's 21.62 in the 200 meters ranks seventh all-time, and the 4x100 relay team clocked 41.25 to tie for fourth in school history. The Warriors now prepare to host the Kim Duyst Invitational this Friday–Saturday, March 6–7, and will recognize Reyna Dismukes, Crystal Hernandez, Justice McDermott, Timothy Miles, Bela Moreno, Mason Phillips, Chris Ruiz, and Jules Sanchez on Senior Day Saturday morning at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.

Women's Tennis Falls at Menlo, Returns Home for Four-Match Stretch
Women's tennis dropped a 5–2 PacWest decision at Menlo College. Katrine Damkjær earned a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, and Emi Mikami rallied for a three-set victory at No. 6. The Warriors now return home for four consecutive matches beginning March 11 against Hawaii Pacific, followed by Illinois State, Dominican, and Chaminade.

Women's Basketball Finishes Regular Season on the Road
Women's basketball closed the regular season on the road at SF State, finishing 3–22 overall and 2–20 in CCAA play. The Warriors averaged 57.0 points per game while shooting .349 from the field, .241 from three-point range, and .619 at the free-throw line. MilaSarai Tau led the team with 12.8 points per game, Alyssa Premo added 11.4, and Eryn Gardner averaged 9.4 points and a team-best 9.4 rebounds while leading the team with 45 steals and 20 blocked shots.

Men's Golf Finishes 20th at Visit Stockton DII Invitational
Men's golf finished 20th in a 21-team field at the Visit Stockton DII Invitational with a 36-hole total of 613 (304–309). Carson Diaz led the way with a final-round 70 to tie for 39th at 149, while Riley Kirk added an eagle and finished at 153. The Warriors totaled 28 birdies and one eagle and will return to action March 9–10 at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.

Rocco Gurrola (baseball) and Malia Babasa (softball) have been named this week's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week after standout performances that helped lead Stan State during a strong stretch of competition.

Malia Babasa | Softball
Malia BabasaBabasa was dominant at the plate, hitting .389 (7-for-18) with five RBI and four runs scored, recording three multi-hit games and delivering timely run production during Stan State's three-game winning streak. She was equally steady defensively at second base, totaling 19 putouts and 10 assists while anchoring the middle infield.




Rocco GurrolaRocco Gurrola | Baseball
Gurrola turned in a standout performance on the mound, earning his first win of the season after tossing 5.0 strong innings in a 7–1 victory over Chico State. He allowed just four hits and one unearned run while keeping the Wildcats off balance and setting the tone for the Warriors' late surge.
