Stan State enters a busy week of spring competition highlighted by several home events across Warrior Athletics. Women's Tennis opens the week Monday hosting Chaminade at noon and will also welcome Menlo on Friday and American River on Saturday at the Stan State Tennis Courts. Baseball returns home to host a four-game CCAA series against Cal Poly Pomona beginning Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m. and concluding Sunday at noon. Track & Field also continues its outdoor season Saturday at the Mark Conover Classic in San Luis Obispo as the Warriors transition into the heart of the spring schedule.

Wild, Nino, DMR Earn All-America Honors at NCAA Indoor Championships
Stan State track & field closed the indoor season with multiple All-America performances at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Va. Annie Wild earned First Team All-America honors after finishing third in the women's mile final in 4:45.45, scoring six points for the Warriors and becoming a five-time All-American. Alexis Nino secured Second Team All-America honors in the women's shot put with a 16th-place finish (13.18m / 43-3), capping a record-breaking indoor campaign that included a school-record mark of 15.15 meters (49-8.5). The distance medley relay team of Izzy Soto, Mila Real, Crystal Hernandez and Wild also earned Second Team All-America honors with a ninth-place finish in 11:42.25. Stan State finished tied for 32nd in the team standings as the Warriors now turn their focus to the outdoor season.

Softball Wins Series vs. CSUSB
Stan State softball went 3-1 in its home CCAA series against Cal State San Bernardino to improve to 14-10 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The Warriors are hitting .271 as a team with 168 hits and 85 RBI through 24 games. Katelyn Bridgeman leads the lineup with a .415 average and 34 hits, while Malia Babasa is batting .352 with 25 hits and 11 RBI, and Nat Camarena has added two home runs and 15 RBI. In the circle, Alexandria Himes improved to 7-3 with a 2.67 ERA and recorded two wins during the series to help secure the home conference series victory. Against CSUSB, Bridgeman led the Warriors at the plate hitting .571 with eight hits and three RBI, while Addie Meddings batted .417 with five hits and five RBI. Himes went 2-0 in the circle with a 1.00 ERA over 14.0 innings to lead the pitching staff during the series. The Warriors will be off from competition until March 27–28 when they travel to Chico for a CCAA series against Chico State.

Women's Tennis Goes 2-1 During Week
Stan State women's tennis went 2-1 during the week highlighted by a statement 4-3 victory over No. 11 Hawai'i Pacific on March 11 at the Stan State Tennis Courts, marking the program's first win over the Sharks. After dropping the doubles point, the Warriors rallied with four singles victories as Abbigail Mulick, Parker Orlando, Maiah White and Emi Mikami each secured key points, with Mikami clinching the match in a three-set battle at No. 6 singles. Stan State then faced a tough non-conference test against Illinois State, falling after the Redbirds captured the doubles point and carried momentum into singles play. The Warriors closed the week with another 4-3 victory over Dominican, snapping a nine-match losing streak to the Penguins as Mulick (No. 1), Katrine Damkjær (No. 3), Orlando (No. 4) and White (No. 5) each earned singles wins to secure the dual at the Stan State Tennis Courts.

Nino Off to Strong Start Outdoors
Stan State's Alexis Nino has carried her momentum from the indoor season into the outdoor campaign and currently ranks second in NCAA Division II in the shot put with a mark of 14.12 meters (46-4) and third nationally in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.62 meters (175-11), both recorded at the Fresno Pacific Sunbird Invitational on Feb. 20. The early-season marks place the junior among the national leaders in both events.

Warriors Fall to 12-13 After Series at Cal State LA
Stan State baseball went 1-3 in its CCAA road series at Cal State LA to move to 12-13 overall and 3-5 in conference play. Chase Wilson led the Warriors during the series hitting .375 with six hits, while Zach Lewis batted .364 with four hits and four RBI and Eric Perez added two hits including a home run and two RBI. The Warriors' lone win came Friday as Austin Balentine earned the victory, allowing one earned run over six innings with five strikeouts, while Pierce Sailer closed the game for his third straight save. For the season, Stan State is batting .275 with 221 hits and 134 RBI through 25 games, led by Kian Sanchez's .452 average and three home runs, while Tyler Crudo and AJ Carter are both hitting .324 with Carter driving in a team-best 18 runs. On the mound, Balentine leads the staff with a 5-1 record and a 3.16 ERA, while Sailer anchors the bullpen with three saves.

Track & Field Set for Third Outdoor Meet at Mark Conover Classic
Stan State track & field returns to action this Saturday at the Mark Conover Classic hosted by Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo at the Miller & Capriotti Athletics Complex, marking the Warriors' third outdoor meet of the season. Stan State is coming off a strong performance at the Kim Duyst Invitational in Turlock, highlighted by Andrew Bishop's 10.62 in the 100 meters and 21.42 in the 200 meters, both ranking among the top marks in program history. The 4x100 relay team of Ivan Mendoza, Blayne Siebert, Jaevin Sawyer and Bishop clocked 40.86 to move into fourth all-time at Stan State, while Mendoza jumped 23-6¼ (7.17m) to rank fifth in school history in the long jump. On the women's side, Ahlia Albergottie ran 1:04.22 in the 400-meter hurdles to move into the program's all-time top 10 as the Warriors continue the outdoor season this weekend.

Men's Golf Finishes 15th at Pioneer Shootout
Stan State men's golf finished 15th at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout at Corica Park, posting a three-round total of 15-over 879 (289-297-293) in an 18-team field. Riley Kirk led the Warriors with a one-over 217 (73-74-70), using a final-round 2-under 70 to finish tied for 28th overall. Owen Bascom tied for 48th at 221, while Chase Bird placed tied for 63rd at 223. Carson Diaz and Ricky Sullivan each finished tied for 72nd at 225, and Jesse Verheul competed as an individual and placed 86th at 229. Stan State will next compete March 23–24 at the Coyote Classic in Beaumont.

This week's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week come from Stan State Track & Field and softball after standout performances on the national and conference stages. Annie Wild earned First Team All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, while Alexandria "YaYa" Himes led the Warriors in the circle during Stan State's CCAA series victory over Cal State San Bernardino.

Annie Wild delivered an outstanding performance at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Virginia Beach, earning First Team All-America honors in the women's mile. The junior finished third in the national final with a time of 4:45.45, scoring six points for Stan State and securing the fifth All-America honor of her career.




Yaya HimesAlexandria "YaYa" Himes | Softball
Stan State pitcher Alexandria "YaYa" Himes went 2-0 with two complete games in the Warriors' CCAA series against Cal State San Bernardino. She tossed 14.0 innings, allowing just two earned runs on 10 hits while striking out six and holding the Coyotes to a .200 batting average. Himes opened the series with a complete-game 4-2 win before returning the next day to throw a four-hit shutout in a 5-0 victory, helping the Warriors secure back-to-back conference wins.
