Stan State enters a busy week of spring competition highlighted by road contests across Warrior Athletics. Men's golf opens the week Monday and Tuesday at the Coyote Classic in Beaumont. Track & field continues its outdoor season Friday and Saturday at the West Coast Relays in Clovis. Baseball hits the road for a four-game CCAA series at Cal State San Marcos after taking three of four games from first-place Cal Poly Pomona to move into fifth place in the CCAA standings. Softball also travels to Chico State for a Friday doubleheader at 1 p.m. and a Saturday twin bill at noon, while women's tennis faces Concordia Irvine on Friday before taking on Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday in Fresno. The Warriors enter the week with a 15-14 overall record and a 6-6 mark in CCAA play.

Baseball Takes Series from First-Place Pomona
Stan State baseball secured a key CCAA series victory, taking three of four games from first-place Cal Poly Pomona to move into fifth place in the conference standings. The Warriors were led at the plate by Eric Perez, who hit .556 (5-for-9) with four doubles, while Zach Lewis batted .421, Tyler Crudo hit .385, and Chris Ortiz drove in a team-high eight runs with a .706 slugging percentage. On the mound, Evan Fanconi earned the win with a dominant 6.0-inning relief outing, striking out nine without a walk, while AJ Victoravich earned the first win of his career and recorded the save, and Sawyer added a win to secure the 3-1 weekend. For the season, Stan State is hitting .280 and is led by Kian Sanchez (.452, .710 SLG), with Crudo (.333) and Lewis (.318) pacing the lineup, while Mason Kelley (22 RBIs) and AJ Carter (21 RBIs) lead the run production; on the mound, Austin Balentine has five wins and 29 strikeouts, Pierce Sailer has three saves, Payton Hawkinson has a team-high 37.1 innings, and Fanconi has struck out 13 in 9.2 innings.

Softball Builds Momentum After Series Win vs. CSUSB
Stan State softball went 3-1 in its home CCAA series against Cal State San Bernardino on March 13-14 to improve to 14-10 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The Warriors currently sit seventh in the CCAA standings, with the top five teams advancing to the CCAA Championship Tournament and are hitting .271 as a team with 168 hits and 85 RBI through 24 games. Katelyn Bridgeman leads the lineup with a .415 average and 34 hits, while Malia Babasa is batting .352 with 25 hits and 11 RBI, and Nat Camarena has added two home runs and 15 RBI. In the circle, Alexandria Himes improved to 7-3 with a 2.67 ERA and recorded two wins during the series, earning FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. Against CSUSB, Bridgeman hit .571 with eight hits and three RBI, while Addie Meddings batted .417 with five hits and five RBI, and Himes went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA over 14.0 innings to lead the pitching staff. The Warriors return to the diamond this weekend in Chico after a week off.

Throws Shine at Conover Classic
Stan State track & field delivered a standout performance in the throws at the Mark Conover Classic, highlighted by dominant efforts from Alexis Nino and Mason Phillips. Nino turned in one of the top all-around performances in the nation this season, recording NCAA provisional qualifying marks in both the hammer and shot put while ranking among the national leaders in each event. She also added a top 10 program mark in the discus to cap a dominant meet across all three throws. On the men's side, Phillips posted a career-best mark in the shot put to move into No. 8 all-time in program history, while also contributing solid marks in both the hammer and discus. The Warriors saw several other strong performances across the throws group, continuing to build depth and momentum as the outdoor season progresses.

Nino Hits NCAA Provisional Marks
Stan State's Alexis Nino recorded NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks in both the shot put and hammer throw at the Mark Conover Classic, positioning herself among the nation's top competitors heading into the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May. Nino ranks sixth nationally in the shot put with a mark of 14.35m (47-1) and eighth in the hammer throw at 54.20m (177-10), solidifying her status as one of the top all-around throwers in the country.

Stan State Earns Five All-America Honors at NCAA DII Indoor Championships
Stan State track & field earned five All-America honors at the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, highlighted by Annie Wild's First Team All-America finish in the women's mile after placing third in 4:45.45. Alexis Nino added Second Team All-America honors in the shot put, while the distance medley relay team of Izzy Soto, Mila Real, Crystal Hernandez and Wild also earned Second Team All-America recognition with a ninth-place finish. The performance capped a strong indoor season for the Warriors, who totaled six team points and now shift focus to the outdoor campaign.

No. 35 Women's Tennis Goes 1-1
No. 35 Stan State women's tennis (4-6, 4-3 PacWest) split a pair of matches over the weekend, earning a dominant 7-0 sweep of Chaminade after falling 6-1 to Menlo in PacWest play. The Warriors controlled the Chaminade match from the start, sweeping doubles and all six singles courts in straight sets, highlighted by strong performances from Abbigail Mulick, Emma Yu, and Parker Orlando. Earlier in the week, Stan State secured the doubles point against Menlo but dropped a series of tightly contested singles matches in challenging conditions. The Warriors were also named the PacWest Team of the Week after earning 4-3 victories over No. 11 Hawai'i Pacific and Dominican the previous week and continue conference play on the road at Concordia Irvine before facing Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday in Fresno.

Men's Golf Heads to Coyote Classic
Stan State men's golf continues its spring season March 23-24 at the Coyote Classic in Beaumont, hosted by Cal State San Bernardino at Oak Valley Golf Club. The Warriors are coming off a 15th-place finish at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, where Riley Kirk led the team with a one-over 217, including a final-round 70. Ranked No. 14 in the NCAA Division II West Region, Stan State has competed in seven events this season with a top finish of eighth place at the Chico State Wildcat Classic and will look to build momentum against a strong 12-team field ahead of next month's CCAA Championships.

Stan State's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week are baseball reliever Evan Fanconi and track & field throwers Alexis Nino and Mason Phillips.

Evan FanconiEvan Fanconi (Baseball)
Fanconi was dominant out of the bullpen for Stan State, tossing 6.0 innings across two appearances while earning a win. He struck out nine batters without issuing a walk, allowing just five hits and three runs for a 4.50 ERA. Opponents hit just .227 against him as he showcased strong command and swing-and-miss stuff. He keyed the Warriors' 3-1 series win over first-place Cal Poly Pomona.

Alexis NinoAlexis Nino (Women's Track & Field)
Nino put together one of the top all-around performances in the nation this season at the Mark Conover Classic, excelling across all three throwing events. She recorded a mark of 177-10 (54.20m) in the hammer throw to rank eighth in the nation and hit the NCAA provisional qualifying standard. She also posted a throw of 47-1 (14.35m) in the shot put to move to sixth nationally and No. 2 all-time in Stan State history with another provisional mark. Nino added a discus throw of 127-8 (38.91m) to rank among the top 10 in program history.

Mason PhillipsMason Phillips (Men's Track & Field)
Phillips delivered a career performance in the shot put at the Mark Conover Classic in San Luis Obispo, recording a mark of 53-6.5 (16.32m) to move into No. 8 all-time in Stan State history. His mark stands as one of the top performances in the CCAA this season and highlights his continued rise among the program's top throwers. He also recorded marks of 139-4 (42.48m) in the discus and 157-8 (48.06m) in the hammer at the meet.
