Sailer Named FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week

3/9/2026 4:05:00 PM

TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State right-hander Pierce Sailer has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week after a dominant performance in conference play, marking the third time this season the Warriors have earned CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors. Austin Balentine previously received the award twice earlier this year (Jan. 30–Feb. 1 and Feb. 16–22).

Stan State put together a strong weekend against Cal State East Bay, highlighted by dominant relief pitching from Sailer and a breakout offensive series from Carter as the Warriors earned a four-game CCAA split.

Sailer was lights out of the bullpen, making three appearances and recording back-to-back saves on March 7 and March 8. Over 3.0 innings of work, he allowed just two hits and did not surrender a run, finishing the week with a 0.00 ERA. He struck out six and walked just one while holding opponents to a .200 batting average.

In the series finale 5-2-win, Sailer entered with one out and the bases loaded and immediately delivered back-to-back strikeouts to escape the jam. He preserved the lead and closed out the victory, showcasing poise in one of the weekend's biggest moments.

For the season, Sailer is 1-0 with a 3.06 ERA in nine appearances, totaling two saves in 17.2 innings of work. He has allowed 16 hits and six earned runs while striking out 13 and walking five, holding opponents to a .239 batting average.

Stan State is now 11-10 overall and 2-2 in CCAA play as conference action continues this week.   Stan State continues CCAA play on the road next weekend with a four-game series at Cal State Los Angeles at Reeder Field in Los Angeles, Calif. The series begins Friday, March 13 at 6:00 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., and concludes Sunday, March 15 at 12:00 p.m. All games will feature live stats and streaming on FloCollege.

The Warriors then return home to Warrior Baseball Field to host Cal Poly Pomona in a four-game CCAA series beginning Friday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. The series continues with a Saturday, March 21 doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., and wraps up Sunday, March 22 at 12:00 p.m. Stan State Hall of Famers and longtime broadcast voices Bryan Nelson and Eric Davis of Blue Chip Broadcasting will be on the call for the Pomona series. Games will be streamed on FloCollege and Blue Chip Broadcasting with live stats and ticket information available online.
