Stan State enters the final stretch of the spring season with postseason implications across multiple programs. Men's golf leads the week at the CCAA Championships beginning Monday, while softball hits the road for a key conference series at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Baseball closes out the week at home with a four-game series against Cal State Dominguez Hills, highlighted by BlueChip Sponsorship Night on Friday and Senior Day on Sunday. 

Men's Golf Closes Regular Season, Heads to CCAA Championships
Stan State closed out the regular season with a ninth-place finish at the 51st Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, posting rounds of 292-288-303 after sitting in fourth through two rounds. Owen Bascom led the Warriors with a tie for 12th at 3-over 216, while Carson Diaz and Riley Kirk each finished inside the top 35 as Stan State competed against a strong field on its home course.

The Warriors now turn their attention to the CCAA Championships, set for April 20–22 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton. Stan State enters the postseason with a balanced lineup led by Bascom (73.65 scoring average), along with Riley Kirk, Ricky Sullivan and Carson Diaz, and will compete against a deep seven-team field that includes several top-10 teams in the West Region. The tournament champion will earn the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Championships, with regional selections to be announced April 26.

Softball Takes Series from Cal State Monterey Bay
Stan State went 3-1 against Cal State Monterey Bay at home, earning wins of 10-9, 6-5 and 11-5 after dropping the second game 6-3 to improve to 19-19 overall and 8-14 in CCAA play with 10 games remaining.

Sadie Salas delivered the highlight with a two-run walk-off single in the Warriors' 6-5 win, while Katelyn Bridgeman hit .667 with a home run and five RBIs. Nat Camarena added seven RBIs as Stan State totaled 40 hits and 26 runs in the series, and Alexis Camberos picked up a win in the circle.

Bridgeman leads the team with a .405 average, while Camarena has 22 RBIs. In the circle, Alexandria Himes is 9-4 with a 2.44 ERA.

Stan State sits just outside the top five in the CCAA standings at 8-14. The Warriors travel to Cal State Dominguez Hills April 24-25 before closing the regular season at home May 1-2 against Cal Poly Humboldt.

Track & Field Posts Provisional Marks, Strong CCAA Performances
Stan State track & field continued its outdoor season with strong performances across the Bryan Clay Invitational, Leopard Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays, competing against a deep field of Division I and II programs. Bela Moreno highlighted the weekend with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 10:58.68 in the 3000-meter steeplechase, moving to No. 5 all-time in program history and ranking fourth in the CCAA, while Alexis Nino added another provisional mark in the hammer throw at 176-5.

The Warriors also recorded several top conference marks, led by Logan Edwards, who ranks first in the CCAA in the hammer throw, along with Luke Giannotta (fifth) and Mason Phillips (sixth). Ahlia Albergottie ran 1:03.12 in the 400 hurdles to rank fourth in the conference, while Justice McDermont sits sixth in the javelin. On the track, Andrew Bishop (10.56) and Jaevin Sawyer (10.63) paced the sprints, while Megan Silva moved into the program's top 10 all-time in the 800 meters (2:10.87), as the Warriors continue building momentum toward the championship portion of the season.

Women's Tennis Places Seventh at PacWest Championships
Stan State finished seventh at the PacWest Championships in Surprise, Ariz., closing the season with a 4-1 win over Dominican in the seventh-place match to finish 8-11 overall.  The Warriors opened the tournament with a 4-0 loss to No. 25 Azusa Pacific before falling 4-1 to No. 39 Menlo in consolation play, where Emma Yu earned the lone point with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles.

Stan State rebounded in the finale, sweeping doubles behind Emma Yu/Abbigail Mulick, Parker Orlando/Katrine Damkjær and Maiah White/Emi Mikami. Yu added a 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 1 singles, while Orlando (No. 4) and Mikami (No. 6) secured the clinching points in the 4-1 victory.

Baseball Splits Series with Chico State
Stan State went 2-2 against Chico State at home, moving to 18-22 overall and 9-14 in CCAA play as the Warriors continue their push toward a top-five finish.

Mason Kelley led the offense, hitting .538 with seven hits and four RBIs, while Zach Lewis (.438) and Cameron Taylor (.429) added strong series performances. Chris Ortiz and AJ Carter also drove in key runs as the Warriors scored 23 runs in the series. On the mound, Evan Fanconi earned a win with one run over 6.0 innings, while Austin Balentine added a strong 7.0-inning outing.

For the season, Kian Sanchez leads the team with a .432 average, while Lewis has a team-high 49 hits and 20 RBIs. Kelley and Carter each have 26 RBIs. Balentine leads the staff with six wins, Fanconi is 3-0, and Pierce Sailer has five saves.

Cal State Monterey Bay (17-7) and Cal Poly Pomona (17-11) lead the CCAA, with Stan State (9-14) just outside the top five. The Warriors remain at home to host Cal State Dominguez Hills beginning Friday at 6 p.m., concluding an eight-game homestand. Friday is BlueChip Sports Sponsorship Night, and Sunday's finale (12 p.m.) will serve as Senior Day.

Warriors Continue to Post NCAA Provisional Marks and CCAA Top Times
Stan State continues to build its NCAA Division II qualifying profile with multiple provisional marks across events. Andrew Bishop ranks 43rd nationally in the 200 meters (21.11), while Megan Silva (2:10.87) and Bela Moreno (10:58.68) rank among the top 50 nationally in the 800 meters and steeplechase. The men's 4x100 relay also ranks nationally, while Eric Green (long jump) and Alexis Nino (shot put, hammer) continue to lead the field events.

The Warriors have also posted numerous scoring (top-eight) marks in the CCAA, highlighted by Eric Green (No. 1, long jump), Logan Edwards (No. 1, hammer), and Alexis Nino (No. 1, shot put and hammer). In the throws, Stan State shows strong depth with Luke Giannotta and Mason Phillips also in scoring position in the hammer, while Phillips adds a top-three mark in the shot put.

On the track, Andrew Bishop (No. 5, 100m; No. 6, 200m) and Jaevin Sawyer (No. 7, 100m) lead the sprints, while Megan Silva (No. 4), Crystal Hernandez (No. 6) and Izzy Soto (No. 8) all rank in the 800 meters. Silva and Soto also
hold scoring spots in the 1500 meters, while Isabela Moreno ranks fifth in the steeplechase. The men's 4x100 relay ranks second in the conference, with the 4x400 relay also in scoring position.

Stan State's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week are softball's Nat Camarena, women's track & field distance runner Bela Moreno, and baseball's Evan Fanconi, following standout performances in the circle, on the track, and on the mound.

Nat Camarena (Softball)
Nat CamarenaCamarena earns Donna Pierce Warrior of the Week honors after a strong all-around performance for the Warriors. She hit .462 with six hits and a team-high seven RBI, leading the offense during the series. In the circle, she logged 12.0 innings with seven strikeouts to pick up a win, showcasing her impact as a two-way contributor.


Evan FanconiEvan Fanconi (Baseball)
Fanconi earns the honor following a composed performance in his first start as a Warrior. The right-hander improved to 3-0 on the season after tossing 6.0 innings in a 5-2 win over Chico State, allowing just one run on seven hits while striking out one and issuing no walks. He stayed in control throughout his 90-pitch outing, setting the tone for the Warriors in the series opener.

Moreno earns recognition after an impressive weekend at the Bryan Clay Invite. She recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 10:58.68 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, a mark that ranks fifth in program history, 46th nationally, and fifth in the CCAA this season. She also posted a strong 4:46.52 in the 1,500 meters on Saturday, highlighting her range and consistency.
