STOCKTON, Calif. — Behind a final-round 71 (-1) from Riley Kirk, the Stan State men's golf team closed out the 2026 CCAA Championships with a 293 (+5) on Wednesday at The Reserve at Spanos Park (Par 72) in Stockton, Calif.
The Warriors finished sixth overall with a three-round total of 893 (+29) (305-295-293), finishing ahead of CSU Monterey Bay, which is ranked No. 8 in the NCAA Division II West Region and No. 49 nationally.
Kirk paced Stan State with a 13th-place finish at 220 (+4), recording rounds of 76, 73, and 71 to lead the Warriors.
Owen Bascom followed with a strong showing, finishing tied for 16th at 222 (+6) alongside CSU East Bay's Jack Blinderman, CSU East Bay's Peyton Hendricks, and CSU Monterey Bay's Zaid Khan after rounds of 75, 73, and 74. Carson Diaz placed tied for 20th at 223 (+7) with CSU Monterey Bay's George Goff after rounds of 77, 73, and 73.
Chase Bird finished tied for 29th at 228 (+12) alongside CSU Dominguez Hills' Troy Song after rounds of 77, 76, and 75, while Ricky Sullivan competed in the opening round (77) and Jesse Verheul carded an 84 (+12) in the final round.
Stan State competed in a field loaded with nationally and regionally ranked programs. Nationally, Chico State is ranked No. 26, Cal State East Bay No. 30, CSU San Bernardino No. 31, and CSU Monterey Bay No. 49. In the latest NCAA Division II West Region rankings, Cal State East Bay is No. 2, CSU San Bernardino No. 4, Chico State No. 5, Cal State San Marcos No. 7, and CSU Monterey Bay No. 8.
Chico State and CSU San Bernardino finished tied atop the team standings at 868 (+4) (289-288-291 and 282-292-294, respectively), with Chico State claiming the CCAA Championship on the third playoff hole for its first title since 2018. Cal State San Marcos placed third at 870 (+6) (288-290-292), followed by CSU East Bay (881, +17; 295-289-297) and CSU Dominguez Hills (886, +22; 289-299-298). Stan State finished sixth at 893 (+29) (305-295-293), while CSU Monterey Bay placed seventh at 895 (+31) (296-303-296).
Individually, Cal State San Marcos' Gavin McCormick earned medalist honors at 212 (-4) with rounds of 68, 72, and 72. CSU San Bernardino's Aaron Parayno finished second at 214 (-2), while Chico State's Giuseppe Aliotti and Ty Weaver tied for third at 215 (-1). Chico State's Naoki Easterday finished fifth at 216 (E).
Those five — McCormick, Parayno, Aliotti, Weaver, and Easterday — earned All-Tournament honors.
With the conference championships complete, teams now await selection to the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional, which will be announced April 25 on NCAA.com.
