NORMAN, Okla.--- The Stan State men's golf team, coached by Brandon Christianson, has been recognized for its success in the classroom, earning the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award honors collegiate golf programs that demonstrate outstanding academic achievement throughout the academic year.

To earn the award, a team must compile a combined cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or higher for the academic year. The recognition reflects the commitment of the Warriors' student-athletes to excellence both in the classroom and on the golf course.

On the course, the Warriors completed the 2025-26 season with a 297.8 adjusted scoring average over 29 rounds while finishing the year ranked No. 12 in the NCAA Division II West Region. Stan State competed in 10 tournaments and recorded a season-best fifth-place finish at the Coyote Classic.

The Warriors also received several individual academic honors during the 2025-26 season. Chase Bird and Riley Kirk will be named to the 2025-26 CCAA Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll. Bird was also inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society, while teammate Bradley Olson earned induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. In addition, Owen Bascom, Chase Bird and Ethan Gonsalves were named to the 2025-26 CCAA All-Academic Team. On Monday, Aug. 3, Chase Bird and Riley Kirk were recognized as 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Stan State placed four men's golfers on the 2025-26 Fall Honor Roll with Owen Bascom, Chase Bird, Ethan Gonsalves and Riley Kirk receiving recognition for their work in the classroom.
Five Warriors earned Spring Honor Roll recognition as Owen Bascom, Chase Bird, Carson Diaz, Ethan Gonsalves and Riley Kirk were honored for their academic achievement during the spring semester.

The GCAA annually recognizes golf programs and student-athletes who exemplify academic achievement, honoring teams and individuals that excel both academically and athletically.
