Stan State's track & field team capped a successful CCAA Championships, with standout performances and new personal bests in key events. Softball and baseball concluded their seasons with competitive series. Track athletes continue to aim for NCAA qualification, while the focus now shifts to postseason appearances for those who have posted qualifying marks.

Track & Field Posts Provisional Marks, Strong CCAA Performances
Stan State track & field turned in a strong showing at the CCAA Championships, finishing fourth on the men's side (74 points) and seventh on the women's side (47.5 points). The Warriors were highlighted by a conference title in the men's 4x100 relay, as Blayne Siebert, Andrew Bishop, Ivan Mendoza, and Jaevin Sawyer captured First Team All-CCAA honors with a school-record time of 40.45. In the throws, Logan Edwards (1st, hammer throw – 184-0 / 56.09m) and Alexis Nino (1st, hammer throw – 166-3 / 50.68m) earned First Team honors, while Luke Giannotta (2nd, hammer – 178-8 / 54.47m) was named Second Team All-CCAA. Andrew Bishop added a Second Team All-CCAA finish in the 200 meters (2nd, 20.98), while Timothy Miles (3rd, 110m hurdles – 14.56), Izzy Soto (3rd, 1500m – 4:39.14), Alexis Nino (3rd, shot put – 43-4.25 / 13.21m), and Mason Phillips (3rd, shot put – 51-7 / 15.72m) earned Third Team honors. Bishop was also named the CCAA Freshman of the Meet, capping a weekend that saw Stan State score across sprints, distance, hurdles, and field events.

Warriors Close Regular Season with Series Split; Senior Day Highlights Weekend
Stan State split its four-game CCAA series against Cal Poly Humboldt to close the regular season, going 2-2 to finish 21-25 overall and 10-20 in conference play.
Katelyn Bridgeman led the Warriors in the series, hitting .538 with seven hits, including a home run and two RBIs, while McKenna Beach hit .556 with five hits. Moxie Barton and Addie Meddings each added four hits as Stan State totaled 26 hits and nine runs over the four games.

In the circle, Nat Camarena went 2-0 with a 0.98 ERA over 14.1 innings, allowing just two earned runs, while Alexandria Himes added 10.0 innings of work.

For the season, Bridgeman led the team with a .409 average, 61 hits, three home runs, and 28 RBIs, while Nat Camarena added 22 RBIs and two home runs. Moxie Barton hit .311 with 37 hits, and Malia Babasa added 40 hits and 14 RBIs. Addie Meddings contributed 32 hits and 22 RBIs as part of a balanced offensive lineup.

In the circle, Himes finished 9-6 with a 2.83 ERA, followed by Alexis Camberos at 5-7 with a 3.00 ERA and Nat Camarena at 7-9 with a 4.06 ERA.

Stan State finished 14-8 at home this season and received votes in the NCAA Division II West Region rankings during the year. The Warriors recorded series wins over Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State Monterey Bay and split their season series with Cal Poly Humboldt.

The Warriors honored seniors Malia Babasa, McKenna Beach, and Emily Bigley on Saturday during the series finale at Warrior Softball Field.

Warriors Close Regular Season with Series Split at No. 17 CSUMB
Stan State closed the regular season by splitting its four-game CCAA road series at No. 17 Cal State Monterey Bay, going 2-2 to finish 22-26 overall and 13-18 in conference play.

Kian Sanchez led the Warriors in the series, hitting .462 with three home runs and seven RBIs, while Tyler Crudo hit .538 with seven hits, two doubles, a home run, and four RBIs. Eric Perez also hit .444 with a home run and four RBIs, while Mason Kelley added five hits, a home run, and four RBIs as Stan State totaled 45 hits, 13 doubles, seven home runs, and 27 runs.

On the mound, Austin Balentine earned a win with 7.0 strong innings, allowing two runs and striking out five, while Payton Hawkinson also picked up a win. Pierce Sailer recorded his team-leading sixth save of the season as the Warrior pitching staff held CSUMB to a .268 average over the series.

Balentine finished the season 8-4 and is now tied for second in single-season wins in program history in an eight-way tie that includes current Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Ryan. He also finished tied for fifth in program history with 23 career wins alongside Louie Souza (1979-80) and ranks eighth all-time with 182 career strikeouts. Sailer is now tied for sixth in single-season saves and tied for eighth in career saves at Stan State.

For the season, Sanchez led Stan State with a .422 average, while Zach Lewis had a team-high 52 hits. Chris Ortiz finished with team highs of seven home runs and 37 RBIs, followed by Kelley with six home runs and 36 RBIs. On the mound, Balentine led the staff with eight wins, while Payton Hawkinson went 3-4 with a 6.27 ERA and Evan Fanconi finished 3-1. Sailer added a team-high six saves out of the bullpen.

Stan State narrowly missed the CCAA Baseball Championship Tournament, finishing just two games out of the final postseason spot. The Warriors recorded five series splits and one series win during the conference season.

Warriors Continue to Build NCAA Qualifying Marks
Stan State continues to build its NCAA Division II qualifying profile heading into selections, led by Andrew Bishop, who ranks 34th nationally in the 200 meters (20.98) following his performance at the CCAA Championships. The men's 4x100 relay team of Blayne Siebert, Bishop, Ivan Mendoza, and Jaevin Sawyer also ranks 38th nationally with a school-record time of 40.45. On the women's side, Megan Silva ranks 50th in the 800 meters (2:10.87), while Isabela Moreno sits 55th in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:58.68). In the field events, Eric Green ranks 38th in the long jump (7.38m), while Alexis Nino ranks 19th nationally in the hammer throw (55.04m) and 21st in the shot put (14.35m). The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship field will be announced May 12 on NCAA.com, with the national meet set for later this month in Emporia, Kansas.

Stan State's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week are Alexis Nino, Logan Edwards, and the men's 4x100 relay team of Andrew Bishop, Blayne Siebert, Ivan Mendoza, and Jaevin Sawyer following standout performances at the CCAA Championships.

Alexis Nino (Women's Track & Field)
Alexis NinoNino earned First Team All-CCAA honors in the hammer throw with a mark of 166-3 (50.68m), ranking 19th nationally, and added Third Team All-CCAA honors in the shot put with a mark of 43-4.25 (13.21m), ranking 20th nationally. She played a key role in leading the Warriors' throws group with a strong all-around performance.

Edwards earned First Team All-CCAA honors in the hammer throw with a mark of 184-0 (56.09m), leading the conference and pacing the Warriors' dominant throws group.





4x100Men's 4x100 Relay (Track & Field)
The relay team of Siebert, Bishop, Mendoza, and Sawyer captured the CCAA title in a school-record time of 40.45, ranking 34th nationally. Bishop also earned Second Team All-CCAA honors in the 200 meters (20.98) and was named the CCAA Freshman of the Meet.
