TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State women's soccer alumna Makeila Yancey has signed her first professional contract, joining Lithuanian champions FC Gintra for the remainder of the 2026 season. The move marks Yancey's first club in Europe as she begins her professional career.

Yancey capped her Warrior career as a two-time team captain, starting all 20 matches during the 2025 season. She scored one goal and added two assists while anchoring a defense that helped Stan State earn a berth in the CCAA Tournament. During her final two seasons, she started every match and logged 3,610 of a possible 3,620 minutes on the pitch.

During her senior season, Yancey earned United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-West Region honors and was selected to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region Team. She also received CSC Academic All-District recognition and was named Stan State's recipient of the CCAA Hal Charnofsky Memorial Award, presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete from each conference institution who best exemplify academic excellence, athletic achievement and community service.

Throughout her Warrior career, Yancey earned back-to-back All-CCAA Honorable Mention honors in 2023 and 2024 while also receiving D2ADA Academic Achievement recognition in consecutive seasons. In 2024, she was inducted into the inaugural class of the Stan State chapter of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. She was also a CCAA All-Academic selection, a multiple-time CCAA Academic Honor Roll recipient and a consistent member of the Stan State Department Honor Roll, establishing herself as one of the conference's top defenders while excelling in the classroom.

In four seasons with the Warriors, Yancey appeared in 73 matches with 72 starts, totaling four goals and seven assists for 15 points. She logged 6,375 career minutes while helping lead Stan State back to the CCAA Tournament, highlighted by her game-winning goal in the 2024 CCAA Tournament First Round victory over Cal Poly Humboldt.

FC Gintra, based in Šiauliai, is Lithuania's most successful women's club and is preparing for the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying rounds. Club officials praised Yancey's leadership, discipline and versatility, noting her ability to play both centrally and at outside back.

Yancey will wear No. 2 for Gintra as the club competes for another Lithuanian title and prepares for UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying beginning in early August.
