TURLOCK, Calif.---Volleyball's
Lauren Hamilton and women's soccer's
Olivia Maragos have been named this week's Stan State Housing and Residential Life Warriors of the Week after helping their respective teams earn victories during opening weekend. Hamilton helped the Warrior volleyball team begin the season 2-1, while Maragos helped the Stan State women's soccer team split its first two matches to start the season 1-1.
LAUREN HAMILTON – VOLLEYBALL
Hamilton turned in an impressive all-around opening weekend for Stan State, helping the Warriors post a 2-1 record while hitting .465 with 21 kills and totaling eight blocks in 11 sets.
She committed just one attack error on 43 attempts and hit at least .417 in all three matches. Hamilton opened the season with a career-high 11 kills and no errors on 22 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage in Stan State's four-set victory over Western Oregon.
Hamilton followed with five kills while hitting .417 against Hawai'i Hilo before adding five kills on a .444 hitting percentage in the Warriors' three-set victory over Jessup.
Defensively, Hamilton totaled eight blocks, including three solo blocks and five block assists, for 0.73 blocks per set. She recorded four blocks against Western Oregon, two against Hawai'i Hilo and two solo blocks against Jessup. Hamilton finished the three-match weekend with 26.5 points while helping the Warriors win two of their first three matches of the season.
Hamilton and the Warriors return to action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Denton, Texas, for four matches at Kitty Magee Arena. Stan State faces Westminster University (Utah) at 9 a.m. and Southern Arkansas University at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4. The Warriors conclude the weekend Saturday, Sept. 5, against Southern Nazarene University at 11:30 a.m. before facing host Texas Woman's University at 3:30 p.m. All four matches will be streamed on FloCollege.

Reigning CCAA Freshman of the Year
Olivia Maragos recorded three points on one goal and one assist while contributing to a goal in each of Stan State's two matches as the Warriors went 1-1 during opening weekend.
Maragos assisted on
Kyndra Obermeyer's goal just 1:50 into the second half of Thursday's 2-1 loss to Concordia University Irvine.
She followed by scoring the game-sealing goal in the 86th minute of Saturday's 2-0 victory over Central Washington. The victory marked first-year head coach
Adam James' first career win as a head coach.
Maragos started both matches and finished the weekend with four shots, including two on goal, while playing 130 minutes.
Maragos and the Warriors return to the pitch Thursday, Sept. 3, when they travel to San Diego for a 3:45 p.m. match against Point Loma, which is receiving votes in the national rankings. The match will be streamed on the PacWest Network. Stan State returns home Sunday, Sept. 6, to host Dominican (Calif.), also receiving votes nationally, at 6 p.m. at Warrior Stadium. Sunday's match will be streamed on FloCollege.
Hamilton and Maragos are the first Stan State Housing and Residential Life Warriors of the Week honorees of the 2026-27 academic year.
