TURLOCK - Cal State Stanislaus dug a deep hole in the first half, shooting 32 percent, and wound up losing to San Francisco State for the first time in five games, 88-78.

The Warriors led 7-6 about five minutes into the game. After a pair of SFSU free throws, the Warriors fell behind and trailed the rest of the game. The deficit hit 20 as the buzzer sounded for halftime as Hayes hit a last-second 3-pointer.
"I really didn't think we did anything well," Warrior head coach Keith Larsen said. "We didn't defend well, we didn't shoot well. They played a lot harder than we did. That's dissappointing, especially in the seocond half of the year."
The Gators won in part by beating the Warriors at their own game - long-range shooting. San Francisco State Shot 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. They were led by Hayes, who was a perfect 5-5 in 3-pointers.
Calvin Westbrook continued his consecutive free throws made streak by going 4-4 from the line. Westbrook has now made 26 free throws in a row, just one off of the record of 27.
The loss is the Warriors' fifth in a row. Cal State Stanislaus is now 2-8 overall and 1-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. San Francisco State improves to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the CCAA.
