SAN FRANCISCO -- Tight goalkeeping by both sides and strong defensive play kept the offenses off the scoreboard Sunday, as the Warriors finished off an unbeaten road trip with a 0-0 tie against the Gators of San Francisco State.

The tie brings the Warriors' record to 5-2-3 overall and 1-2-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Gators are now 4-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the CCAA.

"We did a great job of battling through very tough conditions. The field made it very difficult to play our style," Warriors head coach Gabe Bolton said.

Junior goalkeeper Jessica Sitarz made four saves, including a game-saving save off of a corner kick during overtime, in notching her fourth shutout of the season and second in a row. In the opposite net, Gator 'keeper Emily Hart made five saves to post a shutout.

"Jess had another fantastic game," Bolton said. "She made a couple of great saves. Thesave on the corner kick in overtime was world class! She is at the top of her game. Bre (Vaughn) is doing a great job coaching her."

Freshman forward Marrisa Dunaway had two shots on goal and Allison Freels and Melissa Phillips had one each, but none of them could find the back of the net.

"SF State is a very direct team. Our backs did a great job of dealing with that pressure," Bolton said.

The Warriors go on the road for another CCAA game in Chico for a 7 p.m. game Wednesday, then continue CCAA play on the road at Cal State L.A. at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

"Now we have a couple of days to prepare for our game against Chico," Bolton added. "It is always a fun rivalry."
