Jordan Stokes made his debut in style and many other Warriors got playing time and scored as the Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball team began the 2009-10 season with a convincing 89-60 win over Cal Maritime.

Larry Reynolds, the Warriors had every area of the game working against the NAIA program from Vallejo.
Stokes, a senior transfer from Lassen College, was 6-for-7 from the field with a three pointer. He made 4-of-5 free throws and pulled five offensive rebounds to lead the way.
Julian Williams scored 10 points and four other Warriors had at least eight points for the balanced attack.
Myles Green did his work passing the ball with eight assists.
"Overall I am pleased with tonight's game," Reynolds said. "It was our first game. We didn't have an exhibition and the guys did what we asked them to do from our scouting reports."
Cal State Stanislaus took a 18-9 lead at 10:11 in the first half on a
Prince Abidoye three-pointer and ran off to a large lead. The Warriors led by as many as 24, at 42-18, in the final minute of the opening half. The Warriors' biggest lead happened with 3:32 to go in the game on a
Marcus Lever triple to make it 82-49.
CSUS made nine three pointers and hit 14 of 17 free throws as a team. The Warriors also shot 56.9 percent from the field and tallied 21 assists for the contest. Defensively, the Warriors had 13 steals and two blocked shots.
Frank Monge was 3-for-3 and finished with nine points.

Tyler Smith each chipped in eight.
Andrew Medeiros led Cal Maritime (1-5) with 15 points and Eddie Williams added 12.
Cal State Stanislaus is back on the court on Friday as homecoming week continues. The Warriors will host American Sports University for a 7 p.m. contest.
