TURLOCK — Now that the regular season schedule has been completed in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, the Warriors now know who they will face on Friday in a semifinal match of the conference championship tournament.

Cal State L.A. defeated Cal Poly Pomona, 4-3, in double overtime to win the South Division and will be Cal State Stanislaus's next opponent. The CCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Championships are at Warrior Stadium, Nov. 5 & 7.

The Stanislaus-LA rematch will be the feature match Friday under the lights at 7. The teams met back on Oct. 1 in Turlock with a 2-1 decision in favor of CSULA.

"Cal State L.A. is a terrific team and we are excited about the challenge that awaits," Warriors head coach Gabriel Bolton said. "The last time we played, it was a terrific match and I would expect nothing less this Friday night."

On Sunday, Cal State L.A. won its sixth straight match after trailing 3-2 heading into the final minutes. Liz Franco tied the match at 88:59 to sent the match into overtime and then scored the game-winner with 4:25 left in the second OT. The Golden Eagles repeat as the South Division winners and are the defending CCAA champions.

The Warriors are in the conference tournament for the second time in tournament history. It is Stanislaus' first appearance since 2005, when it also hosted the conference postseason event.

Led by freshman sensation Karenee Demery, who leads the CCAA with 18 goals with nine game-winning scores, the Warriors finished the regular season 12-5-1 overall and 10-5-1 in the CCAA. The Warriors were also 8-2 in matches played at Warrior Stadium in 2010 and are 14-4-1 since the stadium opened at the start of the 2009 season.

Other than Demery, a number of Warriors have also stepped up as of late including Marissa Dunaway. Dunaway, a prolific scorer with 14 career goals, scored three times in the last two matches. Dunaway now has five goals and seven assists in 2010. Alexia Poon (7 goals, 2 assists) and Briana McClain (4 goals, 2 assists) add to the Warriors offensive attack.

Defensively, the Warriors are led by last year's team MVP Vanessa Cervantes, who anchors the backline with Emily Relles and Sierra Casas. As a unit, along with goalkeeper Millie Brown, Stanislaus has recorded eight shutouts this season.

A solid group of Warriors roam the midfield with Bernie Bettencourt, Kim DiNardo and Alisa Barlow taking control.

In the tournament's first semifinal match at 4:30 p.m., North Division winner San Francisco State (11-4-3, 10-4-2 CCAA) will face UC San Diego (14-2-2, 12-2-2 CCAA). The Tritons, winners of 10 straight, finished one point behind Cal State L.A. in the standings after beating Cal State East Bay 2-0 on Sunday.

The two semifinal match winners will square off for the conference title, and the automatically berth to the NCAA Championships, on Sunday at 2 p.m.
