SAN FRANCISCO -- Two seventh inning rallies came up short for the Warriors on Friday as the host San Francisco State Gators swept Cal State Stanislaus in a CCAA softball doubleheader.

The Warriors scored twice in the final inning before ending the game on a double play to loose the first game, 4-3. In the nightcap, the game's tying run was gunned down at the plate as the Gators held on 3-2.

With the pair of setbacks, the Warriors fall to 1-8-1 overall and looking for their first California Collegiate Athletic Association victory in six chances. The same two teams play another twinbill on Saturday.

San Francisco State improved to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the CCAA.

Trailing 4-1 heading into their final at-bats, the Warriors rallied in the seventh inning. Erica McIntyre led off the inning with a single, followed by a double by Jennifer Arnold. Missy Corral's flyout to right and a single by Ashton Brown scored two runs to make the score 4-3 with one out. Kiley Mendez, however, grounded into a double-play to end the game.

Stanislaus starter Brittani Weatherford struckout eight in a strong outing, but four walks and two home runs by the Gators caused the freshman to pick up the loss.

Arnold went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run -- her third of the season -- to account for two of the team's four hits.

In game two, San Francisco State scored twice in the home half of the sixth to go up 3-1 before the Warriors rallied once again in the seventh.

After Arnold walked to start the inning, Mendez doubled down the left field line with two outs to move Arnold to third. Arnold scored on a Brittany Balanesi single to left but Mendez was cut-off at the plate trying to tie the score.

Arnold pitched six innings and allowed six hits. She struck out three and walked two to fall to 1-4.
