LA JOLLA -- Early innings plagued the Warriors on Saturday as host UC San Diego sweep the doubleheader -- and the four-game series -- over Cal State Stanislaus in California Collegiate Athletic Association softball action.
The Tritons scored early in both games and held on to win 5-1 in the opener and 2-1 in the finale to improve to 17-9, 13-7 in the CCAA. The Warriors fall to 3-18-1 overall and 1-15 in conference play.
After the Warriors grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the opener, UC San Diego scored three runs in the first and two in the second for the 5-1 final count. With two outs in the first, Kellin Haley drove in two runs with a single through the rightside.
UCSD would add two runs in the second with the first on a wild pitch and the second on a single by Sarah Woofter.
Sarah Locarnini had led off the game with a single up the middle for Stanislaus and scored on a hit by
Missy Corral. Corral would finish with two hits, including a double in the sixth before being stranded at third. Locarnini went 2-for-4 in the game, as did Brittani Balanesi.
In game two, the Warriors again took a 1-0 lead in the first before UCSD struck for two runs in the home half of the first.

Jennifer Arnold doubled to right-center to score
Erica McIntyre, who had walked just in front of her with two outs.
UCSD answered with a leadoff home run by Kristin Lesovsky. Then Nicole Saari doubled and scored on a Eliades single to left with two outs.
The teams would go scoreless the rest of the game with the Warriors stranded a total of 11 runners.
Arnold and Corral each finished with two hits with Arnold being tagged with the loss in the circle.
