What's on Tap
The Warriors hope home continues to be sweet as they will begin a four-game stretch at Fitzpatrick Arena. This weekend they host the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters and the San Francisco State Gators.

Last Week
Road trips continue to be tough for the Warrior men as they drop a pair in the Inland Empire last weekend. The Warriors dropped to defending champion Cal Poly Pomona, 52-37, Friday and came up just short, 76-66, at Cal State San Bernardino.

Mactar's Career Night
On a night when the Warriors struggled collectively against Cal Poly Pomona, a star was found on Mactar Gueye. Gueye was rewarded for his willingness to shoot the ball as he came off the bench and turned in his career-best performance with 11 points (4-for-12; no one else on the team took more than six shots) and eight rebounds, five of them offensive.

Conference Road Game Woes
Cal State Stanislaus is still looking for its first away win in the California Collegiate Athletic Association this season after falling to 0-5. All three of the team's CCAA wins came at home at Fitzpatrick Arena. The road has been brutal for Cal State Stanislaus during CCAA play as the Warriors are now 31-105 since 1998.

You're Hot and You're Cold

The Katy Perry song best described the Warriors in two games last weekend as they were ice cold one night and sizzling hot the next. At Cal Poly Pomona, the Warriors shot a season-low 27.3 percent for the game after going 5-for-26 (19.2%) in the first half. The very next night, at Cal State San Bernardino, they shot a season-best 54.5 percent for the contest after a scorching hot second half (14-for-21, 66.7%).

Just About at Mid-Point

The CCAA season will be at the midway point for the Warriors after this weekend's play. Entering the week, Stanislaus is on the outside looking in at the conference tournament in a three-way tie for ninth place at 3-7.

Who's Going to Give?

Friday's game pits the conference's worse scoring team and the worse defensive team by scoring averages. The Warriors score a CCAA low 59.2 points per game (CSUMB is 7th at 67.2) while the Otters give up a CCAA high 75.2 points per game (CSUS is 6th at 63.2).

Among the CCAA Leaders
The Warriors are still third in the CCAA in free throw shooting with a .730 success rate (206 for 282) … Reggie Jones is now seventh in the CCAA in scoring with a 14.0 points per game average …  Dan Daviess is sixth with a .429 3-point field goal percentage … Evan Scott is tied for sixth averaging a blocked-shot per game.

NABC Coaches vs. Cancer

The Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball program will participant in this year's NABC Coaches vs. Cancer program when it hosts Cal State L.A. on Jan. 28. The American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches team up in to create awareness in the battle against cancer with the Suits and Sneakers program during the weekend of Jan. 28-30. The coaching staff will be wearing tennis shoes with a pink tie to go with the suit during the game.

Head Coach Larry Reynolds
Larry Reynolds is in his second season as the Warriors' head coach. In his first season, the Warriors went 10-17, the first-10-win season since a 13-16 mark in 2006-07. Reynolds came to Cal State Stanislaus after leading Long Beach State to a NCAA tournament appearance in 2006-07 when the 49ers went 24-8. As a Division II coach at Cal State San Bernardino from 1997 to 2002, Reynolds posted a 110-35 overall record. Under Reynolds, CSUSB won three CCAA titles, two regional championships and made four NCAA tournament appearances. Reynolds was named CCAA coach of the year four times and was the west region coach of the year in 1998-99 following the Coyotes' West Region championship.

Fitzpatrick Arena

Warrior Arena was renamed Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena at the start the 2010-11 season. The arena is named for Ed and Bertha Fitzpatrick, owners of Valley Lexus/Valley BMW in Modesto and other car dealerships in the Bay Area. The Fitzpatricks have been long-time supporters of California State University Stanislaus. The gym has been named Warrior Arena since 1999, 21 years after it was built.

CCAA Basketball Championships
The 2011 CCAA Men's & Women's Basketball Championship tournament will be held at the beginning of March. Eight teams qualify for the event with first round games on campus site March 1. The four winners will advance to the semifinals and finals in Hayward on the campus of Cal State East Bay. The winner of the tournament would receive the automatic bid for the NCAA tournament.

Warriors picked 7th in CCAA

In a vote of the conference coaches, the Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball were predicted to be a conference tournament team by the end of the 2010-11 season. The Warriors were picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll. The Warriors are coming off a 6-16 CCAA season as they finished 10th. Defending national champion Cal Poly Pomona received 10 of 12 first place votes and is the favor to win the title in 2010-11.
