TURLOCK -- Reggie Jones tied his career high with 26 points and added 10 rebounds as the Warriors handled Cal State Monterey Bay, 89-72, Friday night with another hot shooting night.

Brett Sayad nailed all six of his three-point attmpts for his own career-high 20 points as Cal State Stanislaus improved to 6-9 overall and 4-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Davion Berry did most of the scoring for Cal State Monterey Bay with career-high 35 points but the Otters fell to 5-10 and 3-8 in the CCAA.

For the second straight game, the Warriors were prolific offensively after a cold night in Pomona. Friday night, the Warriors shot 53.1 percent for the game (26-for-49) with 10 three-pointers on 16 attempts (62.5 percent). Last Saturday, in a loss at Cal State San Bernardino, CSUS made 54.5 percent of its field goal tries.

The shooting star for the night was Sayad who only missed one shot all with six triples. He made four three-pointers in the first half and continued to drain shots in the second half.

As usual Jones dominated early, scoring the team's first 11 points. By halftime, he racked up 17 points before finishing with the same total he amassed on Dec. 4 in the win over Humboldt State. Jones grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds for his first double-double. He also had three blocked shots and a steal.

The support cast also included Dwight Jones and Evan Scott, each with 11 points, and, Dan Daviess who chipped in 10. The starting five scored 61 of the team's 89 points with Sayad contributing off the bench.

Cal State Stanislaus's biggest lead in the first was 15 points and it came just about halfway through. CSUMB managed to rally and cut the deficit down to five, but the Warriors used a 14-4 run to close out the opening half for a 42-27 lead.

The second half belonged to the Warriors as they built a 24-point cushion at 12:04 after a Scott layup. Stanislaus led by 24 again less than four minutes later on another Reggie Jones layup.

Cal State Monterey Bay put up some late points, with Berry either slashing and driving to the basket, hitting short jumpers or converting free throw chances. Berry, the CCAA's co-leader in scoring entering the weekend, finished 9 for 15, with two three-pointers, and made 15 of 17 free throw attempts for the 35 point total.

San Francisco State is the next team to visit as the Warriors will take on the Gators Saturday night.
