Heartbreaker at Pomona
The Warriors rallied from down as many as 13 points in the second half to drop a tight game, 66-65, to No. 23 Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday. A Broncos free throw with six seconds left was the difference. Stanislaus had the ball under the Pomona basket with 1.6 seconds left and a last second long-shot from
Dan Daviess was unsuccessful.
Offense Clicked, Defense Strong at SF State
Both the offense and defense contributed to the win on Saturday at San Francisco State. The Warriors shot a solid 46.8 percent from the field in the 82-65 win. Stanislaus held SF State to just 28.1 percent shooting and created 18 turnovers on 10 steals.
Off to Solid Start
The 4-1 start this season matches the team's best since 2009-10, head coach
Larry Reynolds' first season with Stanislaus. The Warriors have not started 5-1 during the CCAA era, which started in 1998. They were 5-2 to start the 2000-01 season.
Try and Stop Reggie
Reggie Jones turned in two more great performances with two different styles last weekend. First, he went off and scored a career-high 30 points against a strong defense at Pomona. He was 13-for-19 for 30 points (with nine rebounds). Then, on Saturday, as the Gators denied Jones in the post by fouling and sending him to the line, he promptly converted on 10 of 14 free throws for 16 points … For the week, he tallied 46 points on 16-for-28 shooting (.571) with 12 rebounds.
High Scoring Warriors
The Warriors scored 80 or more points for the third time this season in Saturday's win. Stanislaus opened the year with 86 against Pacifica and dropped 85 points on Texas A&M International the day after Thanksgiving … The Warriors are now averaging 77.8 points per game.

Reggie Jones is 5-for-7).
Brett Sayad leads the team with eight made (8-for-17) …
Dan Daviess was 3-for-3 in Saturday's win at SF State and is now 6-for-11 (.545) for the season.
Ronnie Stepping In
On a night when the opposition was fouling the go-to man,
Ronnie Sawyer provided the help on offense as he turned in a career-high 21 points (7-for-12) Saturday night. The starting guard also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes of play.
