ROHNERT PARK — Behind by as many 17 points in the second half, the Warriors used a 12-to-nothing run to challenge Sonoma State, but it was a little too late as the Seawolves held on and pulled off a narrow, 67-59, win Saturday night.

Dwight Jones led the Warriors with 15 points as the Warriors fall to 8-12 overall and 6-10 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Evan Scott chipped in 11 points while Reggie Jones added eight points and added 10 rebounds.

Sonoma State, now 8-12 overall and 6-10 in the CCAA, was led by Steven Pratt's 25-point performance. Ben Washington added 16 points to pace the Seawolves.

Saturday night's result from the Seawolves' Den meant a three-way tie for eighth place in the CCAA standings between the Warriors, Sonoma State and Cal State Monterey Bay. Sonoma State, however, has not beaten the Warriors twice this season.

After a SSU jumper at 11:03 that made it 53-36 in favor of the home team, the visiting Warriors took charged and rolled off 12 unanswered points. Stanislaus held Sonoma to 0-for-4 from the floor and forced the Seawolves to turn the ball over six times during the almost-seven-minute stretch.

The Warriors cut that 17-point deficit down to five points with 5:18 left to play after a pair of Dwight Jones free throws.

Matthew French finally ended the Stanislaus run with a jumper at 4:21 to go. Washington then scored five points, sandwiched by a Warriors' Marcus Lever triple, to get give SSU a 60-51 lead and the control.

Cal State Stanislaus shot 38.8 percent from the field for the night and was once again terrific at the line, converting on 15 of 16 freebies. Reggie Jones, however, was 2-for-10 from the floor and  missed both of his free throw attempts.

On the other side of the court, the Seawolves were a hot 53.5 percent shooting for the game with Pratt hitting on 7 of 9 tries, including six three-pointers. As a team, SSU made 12 of 20 three-pointers. In the two games during this road trip, Stanislaus opponents were a combined 22-for-40 from long range.
