SAN BERNARDINO – The Cal State Stanislaus softball team remains tied with Cal State San Bernardino in the California Collegiate Athletic Associaton after splitting Friday afternoon's doubleheader with the Coyotes, 7-3 and 2-10.

After the Warriors split they are 14-15 overall and 11-11 in the CCAA.  Friday's win marked the passing of last years total wins by the 2010 Warrior team, who finished 13-36-1.  CSUSB is also 11-11 in the CCAA as both teams are in sixth place in the standings.

Brittani Weatherford has improved to 7-10 after a seven inning complete game on Friday. She allowed three earned runs and struck out five.

The Warriors scored early in game one after Missy Corral reached base on a single to left field, but then advanced to second on an error.  Jordan Flora then batted in Corral with a single to right field.

The Coyotes battled back in the second inning scoring two runs off of Weatherford.  Which led to the Warriors two runs scored in the third after Flora hit a two run homerun over the centerfield fense.

By the fourth inning the two teams were battling at three runs a piece.

In the fifth the Warriors took the lead for the final time with Locarnini leading off with an infield single.  Corral then singled to left field and Flora, once again with an RBI single, batted in Locarnini.

Cal State Stanislaus would score three more runs in the seventh and Weatherford only allowed one hit in the bottom of the seventh to secure the Warriors 7-3 win.

Flora dominated at the plate for the Warriors, hitting 4-for-4 with two runs and four RBI's.  Locarnini was 3-for-4 with three runs to contribute to Stanislaus' win.

Freshmen Alyssa Coehlo pitched the nightcap for the Warriors.  Kristan Burns, the Warriors number two starter, suffered an injury to her wrist and was unable to take the circle for Stanislaus.

Although Stanislaus could not capture the win in game two, Locarnini and Flora shined on offense.  After a Coyotes seven run inning in the third, the Warriors started to make contact with the ball.  In the fourth Flora led off with a solo homerun.

In the fifth Brieanna Stone doubled to the right field followed with a single by Laura Ginns, which advanced Stone to third.  Locarnini then reached on a single to the third baseman which loaded the bases for the Warriors. After a short single by Corral, Stone scored the final run of the game for the Warriors.

After Friday's play Flora leads the conference with 37 total runs batted in and is tied for first with eight homeruns.

The Warrior will wrap up their season series with the Coyotes with a doubleheader on Saturday.  First pitch is at 11 a.m.
