ROHNERT PARK — Sunday's games at the Seawolf Diamond were totally different than the series opening game in Turlock the day before. Cal State Stanislaus scored two total runs as the Warriors were swept by No. 19 Sonoma State, 2-1 in 10 innings and 4-1 in seven.

Only a total of eight runs on 21 hits with five errors were displayed by the offenses in two games on Sunday in Rohnert Park, which was vastly different than Saturday's single game in Turlock — a 10-9, 13 inning, wild game won by Stanislaus. Twenty-nine hits and nine errors were tallied in the series opener.

With the twinbill setbacks, the Warriors fell to 18-11 overall and 12-11 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors also dropped to 1-26 and 13 straight in games played in Rohnert Park during the CCAA era. Sonoma State improved to 20-7, 13-7 on the season.

Game four of the series is Monday at 3 p.m. back at Cal State Stanislaus.

Vinny Pacchetti, who tossed a one-hit shutout last Monday, was again on top of his game in Sunday's first contest. Against the potent SSU offense, the senior gave up just one unearned run on four hits with six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. The only run he allowed was in the third when Max Kirk reached on an error and later scored on a O'Koyea Dickson single.

Similar to his last start, Pacchetti worked out a jams. He left two runners in scoring position with one out in te second and a runner at the corners, two-out situation in the fifth.

The Warriors had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the third with Zach Cadet scoring on a single to left by Thomas Shull. The teams, however, put up zeros until the 10th.

Sonoma State finally got to reliever Leonard Giammanco, who had came in in the seventh to get a grounder to leave three Seawolves on bases. Kyle Cerrudo had SSU's third single in the 10th to drive in the game-winner.

Four different Warriors had hits in the game off SSU starter Kenny Arnerch. Arnerch pitched all 10 innings, gave up one unearned run on six hits with 10 strikeouts.

In game two, Sonoma State scored four times in the fourth for a 4-0 lead. Kevin Cramer hit an one-out bases clearing double to key that SSU rally.

Stanislaus scored its run in the sixth on a ground out by Shull that scored pinch runner Kory Vitato. Ross Gonsalves, who doubled in the same inning, extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Chris Short pitched six innings, gave up four runs on five hits with six strikeouts for the Warriors.
