Two Stan State Baseball Pitchers Earn All-CCAA Honors

TURLOCK, Calif. — Two Stan State Warriors received recognition on the All-CCAA Baseball Team following the 2026 season. Pierce Sailer earned Second Team honors as a pitcher, while Austin Balentine was named Honorable Mention, marking his second career All-CCAA selection after earning Second Team honors in 2024.

Pierce Sailer had a strong season on the mound. He made 19 appearances, posting a 1–1 record over 30.1 innings pitched. Sailer allowed 30 hits, 15 runs (all earned), walked 10 batters, and struck out 24. He recorded six saves this season, tying for sixth in the CCAA for single season saves, and also has six career saves, tying him for eighth all-time in program history. Sailer was also named FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for March 2–8.

Austin Balentine anchored the pitching staff, making 13 appearances and 13 starts while compiling an 8–4 record over 68 innings. He allowed 72 hits, 41 runs (34 earned), walked 20, and struck out 47 batters. Balentine finished tied for fifth all-time with Louie Souza with 23 career wins, ranked eighth in program history with 182 strikeouts, ninth with 239.1 innings pitched, tied for ninth in single-season starts with 13, and tied for second in single-season wins with eight — a mark that includes current Minnesota Twin Joe Ryan. Balentine was also a two-time FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week (Jan. 30–Feb. 1 and Feb. 16–22).

The 2026 CCAA individual award winners included Zech Samayoa of Cal State San Marcos as Player of the Year, Andrew Kotin of Cal State Monterey Bay as Pitcher of the Year, Tyson Pettingill of Cal State San Bernardino as Freshman of the Year, Zech Samayoa also as Newcomer of the Year, and Walt White of Cal State Monterey Bay as Coach of the Year.

The Warriors had four CCAA series splits this season, which included Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Chico State, and Cal State Dominguez Hills. They also earned series wins over Central Washington University and Cal Poly Pomona.
