GREENSBORO, N.C. — Stan State Baseball has once again been recognized for its success in the classroom, earning the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.

The award marks the fifth consecutive year that the Warriors, under the direction of Head Coach Kenny Leonesio, have received the national academic honor.

To be eligible for the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, programs must maintain a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale throughout the academic year. Stan State posted a team GPA of 3.192 during the 2025-26 academic year.

Stan State was among hundreds of collegiate programs from across the country recognized by the ABCA for their commitment to academic excellence. The Warriors were also one of a select group of California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) institutions to earn the distinction.

The Warriors' commitment to academic excellence was also recognized by the Stan State Department of Athletics. Seventeen baseball student-athletes earned a place on the Fall Honor Roll: Shane Callison, Tyler Crudo, Adam Davies, Zach Geiss, Eli Hancock, Mason Kelley, Herman Luna, Bradley Morris, Arthur Navarette Jr., Cole Pacheco, Kadon Quitno, Cameron Rosen, Pierce Sailer, Kian Sanchez, Austin Sargent, Jared Sawyer and Chase Wilson.

During the spring semester, 20 Warriors were named to the Stan State Department of Athletics Spring Honor Roll: Eli Blurton, Shane Callison, AJ Carter, Tyler Crudo, Adam Davies, Evan Fanconi, Zach Geiss, Eli Hancock, Mason Kelley, Zach Lewis, Arthur Navarette Jr., Cole Pacheco, Eric Perez, Kadon Quitno, Cameron Rosen, Pierce Sailer, Jared Sawyer, Cameron Taylor, AJ Victoravich and Chase Wilson.

Fifteen Warriors earned recognition on the 2025-26 CCAA All-Academic Team: Shane Callison, Tyler Crudo, Adam Davies, Zach Geiss, Eli Hancock, Mason Kelley, Bradley Morris, Arthur Navarette Jr., Cole Pacheco, Kadon Quitno, Pierce Sailer, Kian Sanchez, Jared Sawyer, Cameron Taylor and Chase Wilson.

Additionally, 15 Warriors were named to the CCAA Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll: Shane Callison, Tyler Crudo, Zach Geiss, Eli Hancock, Mason Kelley, Zach Lewis, Bradley Morris, Arthur Navarette Jr., Eric Perez, Kadon Quitno, Cameron Rosen, Pierce Sailer, Austin Sargent, Jared Sawyer and Cameron Taylor.

Four Warriors also earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors: Tyler Crudo, Mason Kelley, Zach Lewis and Pierce Sailer.

In addition, eight baseball student-athletes were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, including Shane Callison, Tyler Crudo, Eli Hancock, Kadon Quitno, Cameron Rosen, Pierce Sailer, Jared Sawyer and Chase Wilson.

The Warriors also enjoyed success on the diamond, as Pierce Sailer earned Second Team All-CCAA honors and Austin Balentine received All-CCAA Honorable Mention recognition. Off the field, Jared Sawyer was named Stan State's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Sailer earned the Warrior Spirit Award.

The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award honors high school and collegiate baseball programs that demonstrate a sustained commitment to academic achievement while competing at a high level on the diamond.
