TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State head baseball coach Kenny Leonesio has announced the addition of Dylan DeBrouwer and Robert Valdivia as assistant coaches to the Warriors' coaching staff for the 2026-27 academic year.

DeBrouwer brings an extensive coaching background to Stan State that includes experience at the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA levels, along with head coaching experience in collegiate baseball.
Most recently, DeBrouwer served as the head coach of the Brooks Bombers of the Western Canadian Baseball League during the 2025 season. He previously served as the head baseball coach at the University of Saint Katherine after spending three seasons as an assistant coach and strength and conditioning coach at Westmont College.

While at Westmont, DeBrouwer worked with the Warriors' outfielders while assisting with the development of the infielders and hitters. He also played a role in recruiting and oversaw strength and conditioning. During his tenure, Westmont captured the 2022 Golden State Athletic Conference championship, won an NAIA Opening Round and advanced to the NAIA World Series.

Prior to Westmont, DeBrouwer spent the 2019 season at NCAA Division I Valparaiso University, where he served as a volunteer assistant coach, infield instructor and strength and conditioning coach. He began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Greenville University, serving as the recruiting coordinator while working with the Panthers' hitters, infielders and strength and conditioning program. Greenville captured a conference championship and established a program single season record for victories during his tenure.

DeBrouwer also has summer collegiate head coaching experience. He guided the Chesterfield Vipers of the Mid Atlantic Collegiate League to a league championship in 2018 before leading the Brooks Bombers in 2025.
A former collegiate baseball player at Whittier College, DeBrouwer served as a team captain and earned his bachelor's degree in business administration. He later earned a master's degree in education and coaching from Greenville.

DeBrouwer is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and holds certifications in speed and agility, sports nutrition and performance training.

Valdivia enters his second year on the Stan State baseball coaching staff and his first as an assistant coach during the 2026-27 academic year. A former Warrior standout, Valdivia transitioned into coaching after completing a highly decorated playing and academic career at Stan State, graduating with honors in May 2025.

While a member of the Warrior baseball program, Valdivia was the Warriors' starting shortstop and the recipient of the Stan State American Kinesiology Association (AKA) Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest-grade point average in the single subject matter in physical education. He was nominated by the Department of Kinesiology faculty and is pursuing a teaching credential, aligning with the award's emphasis on careers in education and coaching.

A three-year starter at shortstop, Valdivia hit .306 for his career, collecting 174 hits, including 24 doubles, five triples and seven home runs, while driving in 78 runs and scoring 86. He earned All-CCAA honors three times, including Second Team All-CCAA in 2024, and was named to the CCAA Championships All-Tournament Team in 2023. The Adelanto, Calif., native was a consistent presence in the Warriors' lineup and leadership core.

Valdivia also excelled in the classroom, earning induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, along with recognition on the CCAA All-Academic Team, CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll, D2ADA Academic Achievement list and CSC Academic All-District Team.
